Mothstorm sneaked across the pine-covered forest floor, her eyes watching the flickering movements of a squirrel. It was unusual to see their bushy red tail's in this part of the forest. Most squirrels would rather live in the leafy trees of Thunderclan rather then the pointy pines of Shadowclan. But then again she was rather close to the Thunderclan border, it's not like I'm crossing it.

Green eyes watched the red-colored critter scurry across the base of a pine, smirking she struck. The lithe silver she-cat raced across the forest floor, pines scattering at the pounding of her paws. The squirrel shot off, it's bushy tail bouncing up in down, the squirrel's scent was nothing but tantalizing to the young she-cat. Practically begging her to eat it right up.

Suddenly she stopped, the forest floor was no longer decorated with sappy pines, and the squirrel was happily diving into a large oak. Snorting Mothstorm couldn't believe she crossed the border, it was my squirrel though.The red critter would obviously feed a whole litter of kits, so maybe I should take it.

Without giving anymore thought she darted up the tree within two seconds. The poor squirrel didn't see it coming and was the killed the instant Mothstorm had her paws on it. Warmth flooded through-out her body as the squirrel slipped into her jaws, with a sigh she slithered down the tree and set her catch down. Eyes widening she opened her mouth, great. Apparently in Thunderclan, no one could ever get away with anything. And here came the cat she just wanted to see.

A pale gray figure made its way through the thick weeds that covered the Thunderclan territory. Padding forward a faint scent crossed the nose of the tom and with a snort the tom turned his direction. That better not be her. The scent came from the Shadowclan territory and to be on the safe side, he was going to make sure she wasn’t thinking about crossing the border.

As the scent became stronger a figure appeared the same one that he had seen so many times before, Mothpaw. With an annoyed snort, Hawkeyes emerged from the bushes that hid him and froze just in front of the bushes. Flicking his tail he slightly smiled,
“Why isn’t it Mothpaw, are you here to steal prey perhaps?” Hawkeyes asked turning his gaze toward the lifeless body of a squirrel next to her silver paws.</sup>

Mothstorm snorted, "Just have to rain on everyone'se parade, don't you?" she scoffed, her green eyes glaring. The squirrel laid torn and bloodied at her feet, there was no way she could get away with this. Then again it was Hawkeyes she could probably get him not to tattle-tale.

Rolling her eyes she meowed, "This was Shadowclan prey, it just happened to cross the border. Kill me." she muttered, her silver fur prickled at the base of her neck. The tom was just dying for a beating, wasn't he. The bitter-sweet thoughts of the battle on the island scattered her thoughts, but it was wasted time. They weren't allies this time they were enemies. She wasn't no apprentice either, they were equals.

"For your information Hawkpaw I go by the name of Mothstorm now." she meowed hauntingly, her eyes sparking with mischief. She knew how to play this, even if it weren't the nicest way. Delicately she stepped over the squirrel, a small smirk played it's way across her muzzle and slowly she was face to face with the silver tom.

"I thought we were friends." she murmured, her eyes sparkled dangerously.

Hawkeyes ignored the comment that the she-cat had made about him raining on everyone’s parade. He really didn’t feel like argueing this time, but he couldn’t help, but to argue about her explanation about stealing Thunderclan prey,
“Yes, but it came over to Thunderclan territory. Besides this prey could’ve have started out in Thunderclan territory.” He snorted.

Rolling his eyes he ignored the comment about his name being Hawkpaw, but he couldn’t help but smile as she said her new name,
“Mothstorm? Okay now why did they make you an apprentice? Is Shadowclan so desperate that they made a snotty, worthless she-cat into a warrior?” He meowed.</sup>

Mothstorm shrugged, her leaf green gaze seemed to shine with a million emotions. She knew how to play this, she just had to keep her cool and remember all toms are the same in the inside. Slithering up closer she murmured playfully into his ear,
"Ah, but where would be the fun in hunting if you couldn't break the rules? Her voice was tantalizing, drawing him forward.

Smirking she backed off a bit, sitting down she meowed quietly,
"Oh cut the mouse-dung." Looking straight into his eyes she meowed, "You know you secretly think I'm attractive. Now shut up and pretend I never stole prey." With half closed she scooted forward,

"What happened to the kind tom from the Gathering? Is he too scared to forget about the petty rules?" Flicking her tail across his now she meowed,

"Don't forget I'm only two moons younger then you, it was only a matter of time that I'd become a warrior." Her eyes were narrowed with slight irritation, even if she was just acting it didn't mean she couldn't take offense of the things he said. Of course I was made into a warrior! I'm totally better then him!

Hawkeyes rolled his eyes in annoyance,
“You don’t need fun to do your duty for your clan.” He meowed ignoring her movements that made her look stunning especially when she had backed away. Her pelt hit the sun from the movement and her silver fur sparkled in the light, but before Hawkeyes could embarrass himself the she-cat interrupted him.

He gaze at the she-cat clueless at what she was saying until it all came to him,
“WHAT?! Me attracted to you?” He asked wrinkling his nose, “Oh Starclan no. And at the gathering I help anyone that is in need of help. ” He hissed with irritation, “And you didn’t deserve your warrior name.” He silently growled.

Great Starclan, he was being annoying. Stupid mouse-brain of a furball-- "Fine I won't play nice." she hissed, her green eyes glittering dangerously. The tom was really irritating her, if he was going to help anyone at the gathering, then why did he help her? "I tried to be nice." she warned, the lithe tabby silver she cat was advancing forward, her claws unsheathed, while her teeth were bared into a vicious snarl.

At once the she-cat leaped forward, her claws outstretched. Her target had been accurate, Mothstorm had hit Hawkeye's chest directly. This ended up sending him into a jumbled heap of tabby fur on the forest floor. With a hiss she dove forward, easily pinning him.
"I can't believe your doing this just for a stupid squirrel." she growled, her ears were flat against her head, while her claws pierced his chest. "We'd be all fine and merry if you just didn't give a mouse-dung!"

He was seriously angering her, and she wasn't even sure why? Was it because he was making such a big deal out of it? No. Was it because he practically stated that she was ugly? When the answer became quite obvious it only irritated Mothstorm more. Why do I care if he thinks I'm ugly? Digging her claws deeper into his chest she hissed,

"Just let me have that mouse-brained squirrel!"

Hawkeyes calmly blinked her pale amber eyes at the silver she-cat,
“Yeah you tried and didn’t prevail.” He meowed shaking his head ever so slightly at the she-cat fox-dung explanations. The tabby tom was just about to sit down and continue to argue with her until he had won the rabbit that is Thunderclan’s, but the she-cat lunged straight into his white chest and knocked the breath out of him as he went flying backwards.

Hawkeyes laid in the dusty clearing coughing for air; he opened his eyes to slits and glared at the she-cat,
“Are you so afraid that I’d beat you in battle that you had to take a cheap shot at me? What is wrong with you?” He hissed taking deep breath slowly regaining oxygen.</sup>

MOTHSTORM

"Cheep shot?" she mocked, to make the situation better she threw in a hearty laugh. Gripping his chest tighter she peered closer into his amber eyes, "Your just a puny Thunderclan warrior, who doesn't know how to fight." Flicking her tail in agitation she lifted her head a little higher, he was was much too close for her liking. Silver fur, amber eyes. The two were practically identical, except he was bigger, and she was green-eyed.

Grunting she released her grip and leaped to the left, towards her squirrel. Grabbing the back of it with her teeth she started dragging it towards the shadowclan border. Once she reached the familiar taint of the darkest clan of the forest she set the prey down and turned to face the tom.

"Want the stupid squirrel, so much?" she snarled, her silver fur bristling in irritation, "Then fight me for it." Standing her ground she patiently waited for his next move, will he fight? Or will he give up? Something deep down told her he wouldn't leave without a fight, but if that's how he wanted it then he'll get what he wants.

“Yes, a cheap shot since that is the only way Shadowclan could ever win their battles.” His hissed, “And I am not a puny warrior!”

Hawkeyes flicked his tail and kept his gaze at the silver she-cat, when she turned around she barely got the words out of her mouth before Hawkeyes bolted forward and knocked down the she-cat. He jumped on top of her silver back as his attack made her fall to her stomach. Baring his sharp teeth, he lowered them to her neck, “That prey belongs to Thunderclan, and we’re not going to give it up to Shadowclan without a fight.”

The attack wasn't what she expected, but that didn't mean she wasn't prepared. The moment he finished his 'taunt' she slithered backwards. Her back paws propelling herself out of his grip. A sharp warning bite merely escaped his ear as she lunged upwards with her mouth.

Then she was free, her snap ended up distracting the tom for a split second and she was able to swivel out of his Thunderclan grasp. Panting she sprung to her paws, her green eyes narrowed in the pursuit of battle. Slowly her lips curved into a rather peculiar smile and she teased, "Can't get enough of me can ya?" It was true in some sense, the pair seemed to always be bumping into each other, quite constantly.

The thudding of paws stopped him from answering, the moment she hit his chest he was already flat on his back. Smirking she unsheathed her claws, the tiny slivers of pain dug inwards into flesh. A flash of defiance flickered throughout her gaze, the intense sensation only deepened her desire to win.

"Come on kitty-pet, prove to me Thunderclan's a worthwhile place to defend."

HAWKEYES

Hawkeyes hissed with surprise as the silver she-cat started sliding out from underneath him, but as soon as he looked under himself she leaped forward, but Hawkeyes was too slow to move out of the way totally. Mothstorm just missed his ear and with that she shot out from underneath him and stood in front of him, smiling. Glaring at the she-cat he too bared his teeth, but before he could make a move a strong blow hit his chest making him fly back onto his back.

Hawkeyes slowly open his eyes only to see a blurry vision of the green eye warrior standing over him. A pain went through him as he felt her claws dig into his white chest and felt a streak of warmth go down his fur. With another blink his vision went back to normal. Looking up into her green eyes he felt a small smile slowly makes its way across his face,
“If Shadowclan is so tough then how about you kill me right here.” He meowed stretching up his neck toward the she-cat, “Here I’ll help you.”

His actions only made her anger vanish into fear. Mothstorm's eyes widened, gulping she urged herself to press her muzzle a tad bit closer, her teeth clenched in false determination. I've never killed a cat before, not even in the heat of battle. Something inside, told her she couldn't live with herself if she killed him. She wasn't sure why, but Hawkeyes meant something to her. The fact that she couldn't stop running into him made it almost difficult to forget his handsome features. Handsome? Where had the came from?

Sighing she pulled away, "I can't kill you, call me weak but these are my morals." Slowly she tore her claws from his skin and maneuvered herself from off of his body. "Take the squirrel." Padding towards the bloodied creature she picked it up and tossed it his way.

"I'm going to leave now." The she-cat nimbly padded back towards her border, for some reason she was hoping he'd say something.

HAWKEYES

Hawkeyes eyes held respect,
“Good choice.” He murmured getting onto all four paws as the she-cat got off of him. A small smile started to cross his face as the she-cat made her way toward her border, I can’t let her leave so soon! He quickly glanced down at the lifeless prey and dipped his head to pick it up.

Leaping forward he quickly caught up to the silver she-cat jumped in front of her, forcing her to stop. Lowering his head he laid the prey in front of her,
“You deserve the prey.” He meowed stepping back and heading the other way toward the Thunderclan territory before anyone finds him on enemy territory.

Mothflight's ears tilted back towards his voice, eyes narrowed she briskly turned around. Catching the loose skin on the squirrel's neck, she began the effortless task of dragging it back to camp. It was much more tattered than a normal piece of prey, perhaps no one would touch it. The critter was smothered with Hawkeyes' scent not to mention her own.

Sighing she tossed it into the bushes, it can be another creature's lunch. Ears flat against her head she sat down and tried to set her wondering mind to rest. Thoughts were whirling left and right, why did he go through all that just to give it back? It just didn't make sense, why did I let him go. That was a question she wasn't going to answer.

Muttering to herself she picked her tired body off the crisp forest floor and padded towards camp. Her mind begging for the comfort of her den, but she couldn't show up empty-pawed, fortunately starclan was on her side. A small rabbit sat twitching a few-fox lengths ahead of her. Completely oblivious to the she-cat's existence.

Eyes narrowed in cold determination she lunged forward, her claws catching the rabbit neatly behind the head. While her jaws caught it's throat, within a matter of seconds the critter went limp. Setting it down she licked the blood from her muzzle and picked it up once again. Camp here I come.
