Friends Forever (Forestpaw)

Following my father's pawsteps

Nightpaw restlessly turned in his nest, not being able to get to sleep. When he got back to camp, he had a good nap. But his rest was disturbed by a worry in the back of his mind that ate his brain away.

But when he finally gave up on going back to sleep and crawled outside of the apprentice den, it was late afternoon. Which relieved him. At least he actually did sleep for a decent amount of time.

At first his mind was focused on training. But as he gazed around, his mentor was no where to be found. Snorting with frustration, his eyes brightened when he thought of Forestpaw. Mentally hitting himself for forgetting her, he knew he was going to have to get used to actually having a friend now.

Deciding on seeing if she wanted company at the moment since it was pretty boring and peaceful at camp, he slipped back into the den, searching for the familiar gray pelt. A small smirk crawled up on his muzzle as he padded toward her, pawing her side. "Forestpaw?"</sup>

"Good morning nightpaw.I ad the weirdest dream.There was this guy named nightstalker.He was all talking to me about a plan involving you and that you betrayed his trust or somthing"

Nightpaw's ears automatically flattened against his head, guilt washing over him like a cold wave. So he did get mad! He even sent Forestpaw the message just to get it to him! He guessed since he was trying to block out Nightstalker the dark cat couldn't get to him.

Sighing, he looked up at Forestpaw with a serious expression. "Remember when I told you Nightstalker said to never trust anyone? Well since I trust you I think he's a little upset..." Nightpaw let out a low hiss of frustration.

"But don't worry, I won't ever turn my back on you just because of my father. He'll just have to deal with it." Nightpaw suddenly wished he could take back those words, knowing Nightstalker must really be mad right now.

"Nevermind that though..." Nightpaw murmured. "Anyway...are you too tired to get up? Or can we do something like train or explore like last time?"</sup>

Nightpaw forced a smile upon his features, but rage crawled through his skin. He was happy that she was finally joking around and laughing, which was why he didn't yell at her, but he couldn't help but feel angry anyway.

Did she not take his secret seriously? She should know anything with his father in it, especially joking around about something as serious as her receiving a dream from Nightstalker, would be taken seriously. It was his secret he never told anyone else that she was joking with. Didn't she understand that?

Nightpaw sighed. He would have to make her understand, or she might joke around about that certain subject again. But in a nice way so she wouldn't be angry or sad. Later. Right now he needed to concentrate on what they were going to do.

"Er..." Nightpaw pondered. "Maybe we can find a warrior to help us battle train? Because it looks like our mentors aren't at camp..."</sup>

"Yeah.Sorry nightpaw.I should take things like this more seriously,a lot more seriously.I want to go exploring again.I need to stretch." She yawned,and then waited for his reposnse.

Nightpaw thought about it for a moment, then agreed with a single nod. Maybe they'll get to know each other more, and have more of an exciting time than they did before.

"Alright." Nightpaw replied. "Let's go."</sup>
