What the river washed in (anyone)

The rain was easing up, and sounds of yowls had died down. And something pulled itself out of the river. Dragonfly, a prey catcher of the Tribe of Rushing Water, heaved onto the banks. Her black fur was soaked. She took a few trembling breaths and looked around. She was pretty sure she saw Screech go down, but then again... who could be sure about that tom.
The black she-cat dragged herself to her feet and moved further away from the river and carefully began to groom herself, trying to get rid of any unwanted hangers on that were on her lean powerful body.

Ears flicked and she stopped in mid lick... someone was close by. She tensed herself, preparing for the chance of a battle. She knew she was likely to loose, what with the battering the river had given her. However she wasn't going down without a fight.

"Today... is a good day to die." She murmured, tail lashing back and forth.

Crimsonclaw led his patrol through the high reeds, his crimson-colored ears were perked with interest. The water had seethed his anger and he was much more calm. So far on their patrol they hadn't spotted any rogues but they still had to travel to the horse-place and back.

The two twins followed him from behind, Lionstrike and Sunrise, he hadn't really ever talked to the two toms before but he was trying to be nice. Suddenly a scent caught his attention, opening his mouth he let the scent flow in. It wasn't exactly the same disgusting scent of the rogues from the battle but it definitely wasn't clan.

Narrowing his pale-green gaze he meowed to the twins,
"Do you guys smell that?" Slowly he padded forward, the reeds were quite thick in this area, which was probably a good thing since his scent would be disguised. Dropping onto his haunches he sneaked forward until his he could see on the other side. A black she-cat caught his gaze, careful not to be heard he pulled back and flicked his tail for the other two to see.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly shook a bit of riverweed off her pelt. Her eyes were worried and she looked around. However she wasn't about to let any cat know she was afraid. The tribe cat flicked her tail and stood tall. She had heard the voice, but she couldn't smell anything, first of all her nose was clogged with mud, second of all the scent of the reeds, and river were overpowering.
"I know you're out there. I heard you." She said, her voice even. However the tip of her tail was bristling, and it was obvious she was exaugsted and had taken a royal beating from the swift and cruel river.

LIONSTRIKE
Sweet stutterer.

Lionstrike followed behind Crimsonclaw. Still stiff from the battle, but he didn't complain. H-he l-looks c-cranky. he thought. He followed silently behind him, his mouth slightly open and ears alert for any signs of rouges. Lionstrike caught whiff of some strange smell. A cat, but not rouge and certainly not clan. He hid in the reeds beside Crimsonclaw and nodded in reply. He thought for a moment about the smell and a picture of the mountains came into his mind.

"D-don't y-you th-th-think it smells like t-tr-tribe?" he asked just before the stranger spoke.

Sunrise padded along his brother's side as they ventured behind Crimsonclaw. It was quiet. And even though it might not seem awkward to anyone else, it sure was to Sunrise. It made him feel small and insecure again, like he was weak and harmless.

But when they suddenly stopped, scenting a newcomer, he got to his senses again. He had to. If it were a rogue, there was a fifty percent chance they were going to have to fight. Especially when rogues are so unpredictable. But when Lionstrike mentioned it being a tribe cat...

"Tribe?" Sunrise questioned, and it seemed the ginger tom was right. The scent carried on the she-cat was identical to the scent that paved the mountains. But why was a tribe cat here? Sunrise stood up from his crouching position and took a step toward the drenched cat, knowing since she knew they were here it was no use to just sit around. He just prayed that Crimsonclaw wouldn't get mad at him.

"What is your purpose here?" He meowed, trying to sound confident but his voice was still a little soft.</sup>

Dragonfly eyed the cat and carefully scented the air. She knew that scent... clan. She also knew that clan cats were friends. Tail flicking she sat down. "I am Dragonfly that lands on still waters." She said to them. "In battling the evil cat Screech but who was once a cave guard of the tribes.... I fell into the river and was washed down from the mountains. I cannot go back, because though I am sure he surcame to the river, I did not defeat Screech. Therefore I cannot go back to the tribes. Not with my honour sullied so." She mewed softly and licked a paw.

Crimsonclaw found himself bristling with irritation at Sunrise's actions and the words were already out of his mouth before he could stop them.
Sunrise get back here, we don-" he hissed, but stopped mid-sentence as the she-cat responded. So the twins were right, this is a tribe cat. Bringing himself forward he flicked his tail for Lionstrike to follow. Standing a tail-length away from Sunrise he meowed,

"We haven't seen such a cat in these parts, it's best to look else-where." he meowed coldly, his pale-green gaze was narrowed into slits. Last time we checked the tribe cats weren't too friendly with us clan-cats. The crimson-colored tom has remembered that battle too clearly, it had caused unnecessary deaths and drove the clan-cats into the wilderness of the mountains to fend for themselves.

Snorting he spoke once more,
"Your on Riverclan territory, trespassers aren't tolerated." Flicking his tail he growled,

"Leave."

Lionstrike followed behind Crimsonclaw. Eyeing the stranger and prepared for fighting if the need rises. So far the tribe cat hadn't responded to Crimsonclaw. "You h-heard h-him." Lionstrike growled. "L-leave."

"I have no battle with you." the black she-cat said. "I fell into the river and was washed here. I had no intention to tresspass onto your lands." She turned around to go, and at once one of her legs gave out under her. She let out a yowl and hit the ground, hard.

LIONSTRIKE
Sweet stutterer.

It took a moment for Lionstrike to react. Padding forward but not rushed the tom went over to Dragonfly. Sniffing her leg he noticed that it looked very banged up. "You s-said th-tha-that you fell int-to a riv-ver r-right?" Lionstrike asked. "Y-you might ha-have fr-fractured your l-l-leg."

Dragonfly looked up at him. "I hit a few rocks, and fell over a waterfall." she admitted. "And Screech clawed my leg up pretty good." She added. "But you said to get off your land so I'm going." She tried to stand again, only to go crashing to the ground once more.

Crimsonclaw snorted, of course this happens, it was complete irony. Swishing his long feathery tail he grunted,
"Bring her back to camp." Without waiting to see if his orders were seen through he left with an agitated growl. Riverclan didn't have the time to take care of outsiders, they had enough to deal with. But what kind of cat would he be if he let that she-cat out there to be picked up by a fox? A cat that everyone hates. Pausing he let out another snort, oh wait. They already do hate me.

It was almost a shame that his apprentice was going to become a Warrior. She was the only cat that could stand to be around him without be intimidating by his natural scowl, and serious tone. It was almost like he was from a different planet and these cats practically trembled at his appearance. But he tried to ignore this strange feeling, instead he injected him within the rippling current of the river.

With strong paws churning he was able to make it to the other side within seconds. The crimson-colored tom wasn't in the mood to be relaxing amongst the cool currents. No, he had to go and report to the new she-devil deputy of there's and tell her some tribe cat is wishing to stay within clan boundaries. As if he really wanted to talk to her again.

Lionstrike nodded to Crimsonclaw. The ginger tom then went over to Dragonfly, and pushing her back onto her feet he allowed her to lean on him. Lionstrike then started to follow Crimsonclaw.
