Snowflower sighed and looked at her rounding belly. She had conceived before she was made deputy... now she was carrying kits. She couldn't raise kits right now. She was deputy. She sighed again and looked to the heavens. "Firestep... can you hear me?" She mewed. "I miss you so much, why did you have to leave me. I... I can't do this on my own."

Roundbelly heard the saddened mewing of his former apprentice. Grief filled his usually joyous hear as he padded along to Snowflower, "Hello, my dear..." He purred, "I'm not bothering you, am I? I don't like to see you sad...it makes me upset."

Snowflower sighed. "I'm pregnant. I'm deputy, I can't spend time in the nursery! I have to help run the clan." her mewing was quite desperate. "My mate died the day I was made deputy." She said, bowing her head sadly. "I feel so alone, so... lost." She sighed and leaned against him. "At least I have you back now Roundbelly." She mewed gently. "How goes your training with Ravenpaw? I know you'll make him into a fine warrior. Look how far I've come."
