Fox Trot stretched and yawned, she slipped out of the unused badger set and padded to drink water from a fresh spring that was not far away. Then she groomed herself carefully. Ears pricked up and she saw a fat partridge pecking at the ground. She dropped to the ground and leapt forward, landing on the bird. Quickly she bit the back of the bird's neck and killed it.
Mmmm... Breakfast....
The creme she-cat bent her head and began to eat. This was the life, she had a tom who loved her. She could look after herself, and food was in great supply. Not to mention the scraps she was able to glean off silly two-legs. Just sit there and look cute, and they would toss you some of their food. And if the two-legs didn't want to give the food away, there was always sneaking up when they were not watching and grabbing something.
With these happy thoughts in her mind she continued eating her breakfast.

A faint familiar scent passed by the nose of a black-and-white warrior. Perking his ears he turned toward the scent and started for it. With silent steps he made his way for the bushes that led to a old badger set that was now the home of a beautiful she-cat that the tom had now been seeing the past few days.

Peering through the bushes the tom saw the she-cat crouched down eating a fat little partridge, with a agreeing nod the tom slowly emerged from the thick bush out into the open. Purring he quickened his pace to the she-cat and licked the top of her head,
“Hey beautiful!” Her meowed rubbing his muzzle against her blood stained muzzle.</sup>

The Blue eyed she-cat looked up and grinned. She licked him gently. "Hey there handsome." She paused and wrapped her tail around her paws as she sat.
"Guess what!" She mewed happily.
"We're gonna be parents! I'm gonna have kits!" She licked him happily. "We're gonna have kits."

Nightflare purred and closed his eyes as Fox Trot licked him gently on the cheek, this feeling could last forever if it wouldn’t for the next words that came out. Nightflare froze, KITS, No not again! Slowly opening his eyes he looked at the beautiful she-cat that stood in front of him, this had to the worst surprise ever. Shaking his head he looked down at his paws,
“No, no you must be mistaken.” He meowed, still shaking his head, “You can’t be pregnant.” He meowed this time more urgency.</sup>

"I'm not..." She pouted. "You're not happy? I thought you would be happy." She mewed. "We're going to be parents... isn't it wonderful? Why are you sad my love?" She seemed quite upset at the fact that he didn't seem to be pleased that he was going to have kits with her.

“I’m happy to be with you, but I just don’t go well with kits.” He meowed slowly glancing up to look into Fox Trot’s beautiful blue eyes.
“This is just like Badgerstripe and our kits. You see I was nervous for Badgerstripe for if there would be any complication like there had in the past with other cats. I don’t want kit to act like me; I mean why would the forest want more cats with half my blood.” He meowed closing his eyes he silently added, “I should have never let you stayed….”</sup>

Fox Trot pouted. "What cat wouldn't? You're funny, you're smart, you're charming. You're an amazing hunter. You're wonderful Nighflare. And I'm sure I'll manage just fine. What could go wrong?" She purred happily. "It's gonna be perfect, I know it will."

“Charming? Smart? Funny? Those don’t even describe me.” Nightflare meowed sheathing and unsheathing his claws into the soft earth beneath him, “And how do you know it’ll go perfect?” Nightflare almost growled, but kept the urge inside. Sighing deeply he glanced up, “Look I just don’t want you to be stressed out when you have to hunt and I’m not here, and to raise them with no one to help you.”</sup>

"I'll be fine. I've been looking after myself for a while now." She mewed. "Anyway, loners do it all the time." She smiled. "And I'll do just fine in raising them." She added. "Though... you could take them to the clan if you are that worried. Say you found them in the woods alone... with no mother in sight." She told him.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, I mean who would raise them in the clan my sister’s kit’s are old enough to almost become apprentices and I bet she won’t have milk, but the thing is I’m not really good at raising kits.” He shyly meowed,” I’m not the kind of cat that likes kits.” He quickly added flicking the scraps that the she-cat had finished off a long time ago with his tail. The knew before he left he would get rid of the carcass.</sup>

"Well, maybe they can stay with me until they are weaned." She mewed softly. "Then they can go and live with you. I know they will make great warriors." She smiled at him. "Just like their amazing father."

Nightflare shook is head,
“I’m not an amazing father or a warrior. I just hope the kits look like you and act like you and have no traits of mine.” He meowed sheathing and unsheathing his claws in to the soft earth beneath him. Closing his eyes he sighed heavily and slowly opened again, “I think I should head back to camp, be safe and careful.” He whispered stepping forward to rub his muzzle against hers. Stepping back he gave her a small smile before disappearing into the bushes that hid her den.</sup>
