A day in the moors.

The sweet smell of fresh kill wafted into Shrewfur's nose.Today would be a good day to hunt.Sun shining,perfect temperature,rabbits and mice everywhere.A few days back she saw a siseable hawk.She was however unssucesful in catching it.Today she would.She was about to catch a big rabbit,but a noise in the bush scared it away.She hissed.``Whose there!`` she called out.

Brackenpaw had been stalking that rabbit on its smell, in truth. He had not seen the prey just yet, but the smell had drawn him to it. He couldn't just let it go, no matter what was hunting it from the other side. So focused that he hadn't smelled the clear scent of Shrewfur coming from the same direction, focused entirely on the hunt that he was pursuing. No one would stop him, no one. Or, at least, that had been what he wanted to do, until he rustled the moorland grass too loud and heard the immediate taking off of the large feet of the rabbit. He hissed loudly, ignored the cry of Shrewfur from the other side of the grassy barrier, and jumped through, rocketing off through the moorland to catch the rabbit that he had been hunting.

It got too far ahead of him too quickly, and he ended up watching it bounce across the moorland from a hill. With a bitter disappointment in his mouth like bile, he turned back to the place where it had been nestled before. And he saw Shrewfur, and her face. She was a warrior, and newer one at that. What was he going to do, oh man. He ducked his head some, hoping that she would not get as angry as he had feared.

"I'm here?" he tried weakly, recalling through his short memory the voice that had echoed out at time. "I just wasn't scenting for another." He couldn't turn his eyes towards her, so he kept his gaze trained on the ground nearest to her feet. He didn't want to have another horrible experience with the younger warriors of the Clan.

Shrewfur approached the calling voice. ``Brackenpaw.What are you doing out here.You scared away my rabbit you know.``she said. The prise hawk swooped overhead.``That hawk has been eluding me for a long time.`` she said,looking at the sky.She had an idea.``Hey,wanna help me catch it?``

(ooc: Brackenpaw had an uncle and aunt (half... kind of xD) and they messed him up as a kitten and they were pretty young at the time. Soo, his fear comes from there. For a better explanation (not my failure of one) check out his history.)


"Sorry," he muttered, ducking his head to his chest in apology. "I had originally thought it was my rabbit. I was coming from the other side. Would've been interesting if we pounced at the same time, wouldn't it?" Brackenpaw chuckled loosely, trying to rid himself of the fear that the warrior had pushed inside of him. The shiver to the memories coaxed down his spine, the fur there rising and settling in the same ticking moments. He didn't want to give the impression that he didn't like Shrewfur, he hardly knew her, but it was just the past creeping back up on him.

"Hawk, huh? I didn't think that we took those down over here," Brackenpaw murmured, dark golden eyes flicking up to the sky. His head angled back as the hawk circled something overhead. Probably that rabbit that he had failed, and Shrewfur had failed, to catch. "You think if we let it get something, we could get both of the pieces of prey?" The dark brown tabby's eyes glittered at the prospect, but still he did not look at her. Through his excited words there was a clarity that he had accepted her proposition.

Mintpaw had been stalking the two for quite a while now, although her stalking skills weren't that great. In fact, they were quite horrible. But no one could even really blame her, she hadn't any real training lessons, yet. While she scuttled along the forest floor, she had found herself scurrying from each bare bush to the next.

While her ginger and white fur stuck out painfully against the soft, downy snow. Well for that matter, it was her ginger fur that stuck out quite painfully. But it wasn't as if she cared, as far as she knew those two mouse-brains haven't noticed her yet.

As she pelted from bush to bush, her paws had been crunching across the snow quite loudly. With each step, crunch....crunch...crunch... Once again the devilish she-cat ignored it with a flick of her tail. As stated earlier, they still haven't noticed her. That wasn't until she lost her footing, for she was hustling about on the peek of small snow covered hill. There's also this thing called, ice and gravity. When put together they really don't mix, at least for the unexpierenced Mintpaw.

As she tumbled down the hill she had crashed straight into the lithe body of Brackenpaw. With a surprised hiss, she felt her head ram into his chest, and in the end she laid in a heap of bristling ginger and white fur.
"Er..Hello?" she meowed painfully from her small, now cozy heap of fun.
