SEABIRD
I'm a lost soul at sea.
Seabird padded along the undergrowth, she had slowed down quite a bit. She figured this would benefit her apprentice in learning his territory. Flicking her tail towards the lake she meowed,
"Travel that way for about 7--or about 9 fox-lengths and you'll meet the lake." Pausing she turned to her apprentice with a knowing smile,

"No worries we'll take a peek down there after I show you the Windclan Border." she mused warmly. Twitching her nose she opened her mouth, drawing in all the scents. Stale trace of a fox, the usual prey, and two-leg? No that couldn't be right. She shook her head but once she opened her mouth again she was able to detect the foul scent.

Narrowing her eyes she singled for Patchpaw to stay low, creeping through-out the undergrowth she found her paws meeting soft-mushy mud once again. Pulling her paws back in disgust she shook them off vigorously until the grit was gone.

Anyways back to the mission. As she crept along the scent grew stronger, and stronger until it was unbearable. Peeking her head out from the undergrowth she gasped. Quickly she shrank back at the sight.

Two-legs! A whole bunch of them, enjoying a meal in the middle of their territory! Bringing her eyes to apprentice she hoped he'd stay quiet, oh how she hoped.

Patchpaw followed his mentor obediently and couriously. He had never been this far from camp that he could remember. Seabird stopped and spoke of a lake a few fox-lengths away. He watched her sniffing the air and did so himself... What was that smell? He sniffed again and they moved on. As they moved through the undergrowth in a crouch, as he was told to do, the scent became stronger. It was a foul smell that caused him to shake his head in disgust. They came to a spot near an opening and he watched as Seabird looked through the thick clump of ferns. She shot back and he instantly knew something was over there...Something bad!

"It's just two-legs, they don't see harmful but they might be. I guess we could jus-" she instantly broke off as lightning flickered across the sky. Thunder soon followed, and that seemed to cue in the heavy downpour. The rain lashed dangerously across the undergrowth. Luckily the trees sheltered them, but alas it wasn't too useful for the cats for the rain still fell through.

Hissing angrily she dove for cover underneath the nearest tree. This would ruin her first session with her apprentice, or will it? Snorting she supposed she could just show him the territory quickly and then head home.

The terrified squeals of the two-legs silenced her thoughts, a small smirk filled her once thoughtful face. Turning to her apprentice she meowed slyly,
"It seems as if two-leg's can't handle a little water."

Flicking her tail she raced towards the Windclan border, trying her best to avoid the harsh--falling droplets of rain. Skidding to a halt she meowed,
"I know it might be hard but report to me what you smell." They were now inches from the Windclan border.

Patchpaw was focused soley on the two-legs before him. They were doing wierd things with saucers and sticks.

A bright light split the sky and he jumped in horror at the sight. He laughed, though, at the silly sight the two-legs made rushing to gather everything in woven nests and scramble for shelter. He to wanted to get out of the rain.

Seabird was already beneath a tree by the time he looked around. He spun around and jumped a small puddle that had already formed to get to his mentor. They ran from the cover of the tree even closer to an unfamilar scent.

"Ummmm..." he paused to sniff the air, " I can smell some cats, they aren't of Thunderclan though... and wet cat." He couldn't help but chuckle at himself, drenched in rain. The heat in his legs was slowly draining and leaving him to shiver and go numb.

"Is this another clan? Windclan maybe?" He wasn't quite sure, he had usually gotten them mixed up when the elders quizzed him.

Now his paws were gone, as if they had left his body completely. His fur was now soaking wet and he could feel every drip hitting him. A droplet of water ran down his whiskers and he shook his head to flick it off.

He turned to Seabird and tried to hide his shivers from her for he thought she might think he was a kit or something of that sort...

"Correct." she meowed, so-maybe she was impressed by the tom's bravery. He was obviously shivering from the rain but he made so intentions on leaving this horrid storm's grasp. She was also impressed by his already budding knowledge of the four clans.

When Owltalon had taught her the clans, she wasn't completely sure if she had even gotten them correct. But then again maybe she was so distracted since he was mentoring her. Shaking her head she chose to rid him from her memory.

Flicking her tail to the tom she meowed,
"Come on let's make this quick." Nodding to him she raced off, completely circulating the whole Windclan border in a quick sprint. With a brisk pace she was able to make to the old abandoned Twoleg Nest in a couple of bounds.

"This is the Old Abandoned Twoleg nest." she meowed between pants. Flicking her tail towards the old-creepy nest she meowed quietly,
"No one dwells her anymore but it was once a well used place."

Patchpaw felt warmed by his correct answer, though it didn't keep him from shivering. They ran by the scents of Windclan, now to be known as the Windclan boarder, to a big thing. Seabird quickly explained what it was.

A twoleg nest? He's been told the stories, but has never seen a twoleg. The nest was big and weathered with holes where the mice and squirrels have chewed.
"Wow!" His gaze resting on the scary nest, and the lightning didn't help either.

<sup>"Come on." she meowed flicking her tail, with the irritating lightning, and the non-stop thundering she wasn't sure standing about in front of a two-leg nest was really a good idea. Not to mention they still had the rest of Thunderclan territory to explore.

Flicking her tail she gestured for Patchpaw to follow, up next would be the large Sky Oak. It wasn't necessary for the apprentice's to be shown this area, but she thought it'd be helpful. As she raced through the brambles and undergrowth she soon caught sight of the large tree. Panting she lowered her head in a quick attempt to ease her breathing, as soon as her respiratory issues were dealt with she meowed,

"This is the Sky Oak, it is said that it's tallest branches can reach Starclan themselves!" Blinking she turned to the tom with a smile, although the rain was a disadvantage to the training session she had to act positive. Turning back to the tree she meowed,

"I wouldn't climb it though, if you fall from those branches that would be a nasty fall."</sup>

Patchpaw followed his mentor through the undergrowth. There was a clearing up ahead and they were headed straight for it.

In the opening was an enormous oak tree. Patchpaw's feet stopped as he stared in awe at it. Seabird explained it as Patchpaw sat. Then he had the idea of running under it to get a closer look.

He darted across the muddy clearing and under the tree. It's trunk was four fox-lengths wide! Looking closely at the bark he saw its rugged texture covered with sap and water.
