Thus Began Thee Torture {Patchpaw & Seabird}

I'm a lost soul at sea.
So here she was the once dream chasing she-cat, with the soft downy gaze, and the gentle liquid voice. And what was she actually doing that was so dramatic?
She was screaming at her apprentice to get his lazy-rump out of the apprentice's den.

"Patchpaw!" she yowled once more, for once again the tom has yet to have emerged. Snorting impatiently she dug her clear encased claws into the soft, mushy camp floor.

"Bring Tigerpaw with you as well!" She turned her sea-colored gaze and raked it across the camp searching for Hawkeyes,
"You!" she growled, flicking her tail to the tom as he padded out of the warrior's den.

"Your coming with us."she added as soon as she had his attention.

Everything was getting on her nerves lately, perhaps it was the fact the tom of her dreams was mates with her stupid, flawless sister. Or maybe it was because she had been assigned a stupid apprentice, and had to train her stupid apprentice with a stupid tom and his stupid apprentice.

Snorting once more she narrowed her eyes and lashed her tail indignantly, whipping it across the squishy camp floor. Leaving a deep imprint, when showed her anger to a good extent.

Sighing she decided to finally sit down and mumble incoherently to herself, perhaps everything was just stupid these days.

Patchpaw woke with the sound of Seabird's MAD voice... He was in trouble he could tell. He had heard he a few times before, but didn't bother. Now her voice was loud and clear. He forced his sleepy self up and licked himself so he at least looked better. He went over to his brother and denmate Tigerkit and prodded his nose with his paw. He didn't stir. He reached down and bit his paw...


"OOOOOOoooooww!! What was that for!" Tigerkit screamed into Patchpaw's face. He leaped forward crashing into him and pinning him to the ground...

"Seabird wants us out there, I think we're going to train or something..." Patchpaw said wimpering under the waight and claws of his brother. He was let go and dashed out only to run right into his mentor...Not a good idea.

Tigerpaw heard his brother's pathetic excuse of a surrender and let him go. He stood back and cleaned himself before padding out to the bright clearing, he was quite happy with himself for what he did, then he saw... Seabird... He gulped, and forced himself to move forward to the already aggitated she-cat.

SEABIRD
I'm a lost soul at sea.
Seabird barely flinched from the impact of her now frightened apprentice. Stiffly she used her front paw to push him away, her claws barely unsheathed but enough to give him a small warning.
Without saying a word to her apprentice her sea-green gaze flickered over towards Tigerpaw,
"Go get your mentor." she meowed sternly, flicking her tail towards the silver-coated tom that was slowly emerging from the warrior's den.

Gazing down at her own apprentice she decided she could be nice, he looked scared and embarrassed. Perhaps he wasn't too stupid, and she didn't want him to hate her. Taking a deep breath she attempted to clam herself.

She was trying so hard to act like a stern, tough mentor and apparently she pulled it off to good.
"Now that your here, I'm going to instruct you on what we're going to do."she meowed gently. Slowly standing up, she arched her back, stretching each muscle as she did so.

"We're going to make a full circle of the territory, afterward we'll hunt on the way back." she meowed as warmly as she could muster, switching from heartless to her once warm attitude was hard.

Patchpaw was pushed to the side by his mentor and he felt little pricks from her claws. He knew she meant for him to move...He did as he was told and moved to sit aside his mentor. He watched Tigerpaw come out and look even more scared than I felt. Seabird instructed him and he gave a curt nod to show he got it.

Tigerpaw came up to the she cat carefully as if she were going to attack at any moment. He breathed a sigh of relief as she calmly told him to get his mentor. He ran off to the warriors den where he saw Hawkeyes sitting near the entrance.
"We're ready to leave Hawkeyes." He stared at the warrior tom in front of him.

<sup>Hawkeyes watched from the distance as the black and white she-cat called for her apprentice and his apprentice, Tigerpaw. Hawkeyes couldn't help but smile as the she-cat had scared the biggest apprentice and his brother by just looking at him, he had wished he had the looks that would scare anyone so then he could have a peaceful morning without having everyone talk to him.

Hawkeyes sighed as he heard Seabird order his apprentice to get him. He sat and watched as his apprentice padded toward him. He had to admit Tigerpaw had muscles on him, with every step he took he could see his muscles work underneath his thick tabby coat.

Hawkeyes slowly stood up and nodded as Tigerpaw had come to tell him, what Hawkeyee had already heard.
"Okay I'll be right there I just need to ask someone a question." Hawkeyes meowed padding back into the warriors den. He looked around the den and toward the back he saw the familiar spotted pelt of the she-cat he was looking for.

He silently padded toward the sleeping she-cat making sure he didn't disturb any of the other warriors. When he finally stepped over the last cat that was in his way from the she-cat poked at her shoulder and whispered,
"Spottedwind are you up for a patrol?"</sup>

Tigerpaw sat and waited for his mentor to come back out of the den. He stood and watched at the other cats walking about and Seabird with Patchpaw at her side.


Spottedwind awoke with a prod at her shoulder. She jumped up and stared at the one who woke her. It was Hawkeyes. She answered his question with a yes and quickly cleaned herself. She jumped quickly and quietly tword the door over the other cats sleeping.`When she got to the entrance she turned and waited for Hawkeyes.

<sup>Hawkeyes waited by her nest as the she-cat cleaned herself from any moss that would have sticked to her spotted pelt. As she finished she jumped quickly out of the warriors den, avoiding all the sleeping warriors. Hawkeyes followed more slowly until he walked out to the clearing where the sun was now shining more brightly. he turned to Spottedwind, then to his apprentice Tigerpaw and took the lead toward the black-and-white she-cat, Seabird.

"Sorry it took me a long time, I had to get Spottedwind." He meowed not stopping his pace.
"So where are you planning on taking your apprentice?" He asked over his shoulder.</sup>

Tigerpaw quickly followed his mentor obediently. When they got to Seabird he asked her where she was taking us. " Around the boarder and hunting!" he yelled leaping with joy and confidence. He held his head high and his shoulders out to make him look strong and brave. Of course he looked kind of silly, but he did it anyways.


Spottedwind got up and followed Hawkeyes to Seabird. She sat beside Tigerpaw when they got to her and watched as he jumped and made himself look funny. She just couldn't hold it back and xhe giggled a little. She looked at Hawkeyes and then to Seabird to see when they were leaving. Come to think of it...She did feel quite hungry.

Seabird rolled her eyes at Tigerpaw's little show of arrogance, but he seemed confident and this was definite trait a warrior needed. So instead of giggling like her companion she gave him a brisk nod. Nothing of encouragement nor discouragement, it was more along the lines of acknowledgment.Scanning the area she made note of the now growing ferns along the landscape, a rather annoying drip-drop echoed through-out her ears. The high stone ledges that guarded her camp made her feel at home amongst the trees, but she felt a strong need to run through the undergrowth--to stretch her limbs.

Without words to her companions she gaze them one knowing glance and then shot off towards the camp's exit. It was common knowledge that she was leaving, it was also common knowledge that they would need to follow.

As her paws thudded amongst the muck-covered grown she appreciated the warm new-leaf breeze that ruffled her pelt. A breathless sigh escaped her soft-delicate throat, oh how she loved new-leaf. Although her last days in this beautiful weather were known as pitiful adventures with her sister as a kit.

Finally she halted, even though her sprint was short lived, it had brought her within fox-lengths of the camp's borders. Turning to face her companions oblivious to if they were panting, tired, or excited she meowed,
"We shall be separating now." Pausing she let her tongue whisk it's way along her jaws before continuing her command,

"Hawkeyes you'll bring your apprentice and your mate along the opposite direction of my path." Pausing once more she pointed her tail promptly east, which would bring her towards the Windclan border.

"My apprentice and I will be heading that way." Flicking her tail for her apprentice to follow she added, "We'll be meeting up again at this point and we'll compare apprentices." With those final words she padded away, expecting Patchpaw to follow.

Patchpaw watched Seabird's gaze and followed her out of the camp. They dashed on through the forest untill they came to a stop near the border. "Wow! Our territory is big!" He gasped as he came to a halt. He looked around. He nor his brother had ever been here. It was better than he'd imagined. Everything was tall and big. He could smell the other clans, he had learned this while growing up. He watched as Seabird told where everyone should go. He was to go with Seabird, his own mentor, while everyone else went the opposite way.

Tigerpaw raced after the others. Being as muscled as he was, he couldn't keep up as well, so when they finally stopped, he was gasping for breath. He looked around at the wondrous sight. He liked the smell of new-leaf already! He listened to Seabird give out instructions. He had to go with his mentor Hawkeyes.

Spottedwind was a great runner, so she easily outran everyone else, though she was careful not to pass Seabird. When they stopped she noticed how short it had taken them to get this far. She listened to Seabird's orders and then walked off in the direction she was supposed to go.
