Nightfall Summoning

Black wings covered the sky with darkness, the only light breaking through their grasp on the heavens was the silver shine of the moon that hovered high in the sky, along with stars that neighbored it. The night was still, no wind soaring through the air, but the temperature was a bit warmer than usual, promising the upcoming new-leaf. It seemed like the world was waiting, waiting for a particular announcement...holding its breath...

Riverstar was positioned on the Highrock, her watchful icy gaze perched on the camp clearing. Most of her cats were resting in the peaceful nightfall, and some were just coming in from a moonhigh patrol. Daring to break the silence, she raised her blue-gray muzzle, her voice high above the stillness of the night.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

One by one, drowsy cats slipped out from the shadows, replying to their summoning by following their leader's orders. Riverstar did not delay her summoning one second. She continued: "Tigerkit, step forward."

^{Loudstorm had just returned to camp from some late night hunting when he heard Riverstar's call. He had hoped to go straight to bed after dropping his catch into the fresh kill pile but instead he went to find a spot near High-Ledge, but close to the nursery in case Iceblink came to join the gathering.}

ooc:Don't forget Patchkit! He's Tigerkit's brother, and you can have Seabird mentor him. Up until she gets killed anyway. xP Oh and don't forget Thunderclan also needs a new deputy c:


Owltalon appeared near the front of the cats. His eyes narrowed against the moonlight, his tabby colored fur shone silver. Giving a slight smile he knew this would be the day the two oldest kits would become apprentices. Soon his own apprentice wouldn't be the only cat warming up the den.

Sitting down he brought his long feathery tail across his large paws. Twitching his whiskers he wondered what Riverstar would do about Thunderclan's deputy. It was almost moon-high and yet she still hasn't announced Hazelstrike's death.

Seabird crept through the mass of cats and found her own narrowed eyes taking in every inch of the Thunderclan's noble leader. Sitting down she kept her ears pricked and her own mind open. Drawing everything in, one by one.

( Yeah that's why I made the setting moonhigh, for the deputy ceremony Wish XDD And alrighty I'll make sure Patchkit gets his ceremony too. )

Iceblink quietly slipped out of the nursery, careful not to disturb her dozing kits. She felt calmed by the peaceful setting, the moon's light dappling the ground in a silver sheen. Even the stars gave out a bright shine in their own unique way. All promised good fortune, and hopefully, that spelt Riverstar was going to make a good choice in picking the new ranking warrior.

Sitting near the nursery's entrance, she shifted her gaze around the clearing; cats were slowly prowling through the silver camp, heading in the direction of Highledge, finding a place to sit. In the dim, Iceblink saw a familiar figure. Smiling warmly, she swiftly got right back up and sat beside the tomcat with a purr. "Hey, Loudstorm." Iceblink whispered, flicking his ear with her tail. "Basking in the moonlight, are we?"

^{"Hello Iceblink." Loudstorm replied. "Actually I was about to go too the den to get some rest when Riverstar called a meeting." he paused to yawn "So I came here instead. How are the kits?" he added at the end. "Ravenkit is doing well I hope?" Loudstorm had been more busy then usual and hadn't been able to visit Ravenkit for awhile to see how she was healing up.}

"Ah." Iceblink replied with a nod. "The kits are doing fine, Ravenkit is back to her energetic self." And to Iceblink's relief, it seemed like everything was going normal in the nursery, and her kits seemed to be enjoying themselves more. Even Silentkit. But he still seemed more bitter than usual.

Glancing at Loudstorm she asked, "When do you think our kits will be apprentices?"

<sup>"That is good." Loustorm meowed. "Should be another moon or two I would expect." he replied before he bent over to scratch an itch.

Amberpaw padded out to highledge and sat down. She sat down next to her mentor. "Hi" she meowed happily. She looked to Riverstar waiting for the she-cat to continue.

Owltalon glanced down at his apprentice, instead of whispering a quiet 'hello' he gave a friendly nod to indicate she was there. Turning his full attention back to his leader he wondered where his annoying--yet beautiful mate was. Swiveling his ears towards the nursery he made sure that he would be aware of her presence.

As the moonlight filtered down onto his rich tabby pelt he thought deeply upon the subject of the new deputy. Of course it wouldn't be him, the tom was much too young for such an important job. So he considered the choices, Loudstorm, Greyfox, Cardinalfeather, and Birdsong they were the oldest warriors of Thunderclan--yet they were also all toms. Perhaps Riverstar wanted another she-cat at her side, but that would leave them with Maplewing, Spottedwind, and Dawncloud. All very young she-cats, but also all exceptional warriors.

Owltalon just shook his head, his best choices were Loudstorm & Birdsong, they were both experienced and older. But then again Loudstorm was once a loner. Sighing he just knew he had to wait.

Tigerkit awoke with the sound of his leader's voice. He yawned and sat up. He gave himself a quick lick before padding into the moonlit clearing. There were still other clan mates pouring out into the clearing as silent and quick as shadows. He watched others pass and picked his way through to the front and sat down looking curiously his great leader on the highrock...

He heard his name! He paused for a second to make sure it was him they called. It was. He padded forward to the highrock and took his place at its base. His heart was racing as he looked across the clearing at the other silent cats...



Patchkit arose when he heard his brother, Tigerkit, get up. He yawned and followed him out of the den. As he walked out he saw all the cats coming out of their dens and taking their places beside each other beneath the highrock. He looked up and saw his leader on the highrock. He walked after his brother and sat next to him. Watching. Waiting.

( Hey! I haven't been on for a week... Sorry... XD we went on vacation over the weekend and we didn't have internet for a few days...)

( It's alright ^_^ Lol I forgot that you are able to do two kits at a time instead of doing it separate, so to waste less time I'm going to do their ceremonies together if that's ok. )

Riverstar flicked her watchful gaze in Tigerkit's direction, then to his brother, Patchkit, who was not far away.
"Patchkit, step forward."

"This is a proud day for clan's name, by naming apprentices we show ThunderClan will survive and remain strong. Tigerkit, Patchkit, from now on until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Tigerpaw and Patchpaw." Going on with what she planned out before, she continued after a short pause.

"Hawkeyes and Seabird, you are both ready for an apprentice. I know you will pass your bravery and loyalty to Tigerpaw and Patchpaw, and teach them the skills that will make they a brave warrior of ThunderClan."

Patchkit heard his name soon after his brother's and walked up by the highrock by Tigerkit. His leader said the words he'd been waiting for. He was now to be known as Patchkit. A whirl of joy swelled up inside him and he was about to leap with joy, but he stopped himself.


Tigerkit watched as his brother walked up and sat beside him. Riverstar said the words that would make him an apprentice. He was now Tigerpaw, apprentice of Thunderclan. His fur bristled with happiness but he forced his fur to lie flat once he could control it.

They wondered though, who were their mentors?

Then Riverstar announced that Hawkeyes and Seabird were their mentors.

/This may be one of my last posts until I leave, Then again ti may not. Instead of leaving here at say 10PM we get to leave at 6 AM!!!!! Dumb people can't think strait. -grumbles- -hits wall-/

Amberpaw smiled happily, sometimes this always being happy got to be a pain. Now their would be two apprentices disturbing her dreams with her father.

She let out a slight sigh. At least to deputy would be announced tonight. And if it happened to be her mentor he would be busier with the clan, so she might get more time to dream.

Then again he was a newer warrior. Most deputies were older warriors. She looked up to the moon and let out a long sigh.

Seabird's ears pricked with amazement as her name had been called. Usually the mentor was alerted before they were chosen but she brushed the thought off with the flick of her tail.

Approaching her apprentice she gazed down into the tom's hazel colored eyes and studied his skinny figure. He seemed like a reasonable apprentice, his tabby and white fur glowed in the pale moonlight. Raising her chin she stared long and hard down at the tom with a swift movement her nose met his meaning she accepted him as her apprentice.

Deep down she had accepted the tom as her own personal challenge, she would prove to the her clan she wasn't just a soft she-cat with silly dreams. Flicking her tail she motioned him to sit down beside her and murmured loud enough for him to hear,
"You lucky to witness such a sight, the leader announcing the new deputy. I'll expect you to stay quiet."
