Thornpaw nodded briskly before charging off into the opposite direction. After he was far enough that Frostbite was completely out of sight, he smirked. Even though Frostbite could be unpleasent, he could be easily manipulated. Thornpaw hoped this would last.
At least until he knew exactly how Frostbite worked. It would take time and training, but he'll figure it out. Entering the apprentice den with a sniff, he looked around and scented what nests were taken, and what were not. Since there wasn't a lot of apprentices before, it was easy to sort out.
And luckily, Thornpaw found a place in the corner of the den, the nest as far away from the others as it possibly could. He knew this den would be crowded with all the new apprentices, so we wanted to be away from the commotion as much as possible.
The nest was worn down; obvious it hasn't been used in what looked like forever. He would have to fix that later, but for now he didn't have time. And hopefully, it would always be like this. Busy, busy, busy. With training. Just thinking about it made him feel more mature. He liked it.
Making sure his nest was known to other cats that it was under his property by masking the faint scents with his new fresh ones, he rushed out of the den, heading back to the gray warrior. It wasn't long before he reached his destination, due to cats going out on morning patrols, taking naps, or training new apprentices.
"I'm ready, sir." he meowed, in his mind hissing because of the mention sir. But he wanted to make sure not to anger his mentor so they could get to training quickly. Besides, he wanted to test his mentor with different things and how he would react to them. He wanted more knowledge of the senior.
And he was determind to get it.
