hey guys, so

I've been a bit inactive lately because of college, work, boyfriend, friends etc.
basically everything has been - wake up, go to work # 1, go to school, go to work #2, homework, and then somehow manage to hang out with my boyfriend/friends so I don't go insane.

unfortunately, my boyfriend found out that he has to move back home to maryland for a year or so and I live in minnesota....and we just found out on monday. so I've spent the entire week spending as much time as possible with him before he left, and that's why i've been super duper gone. we're still dating, just long distance now - and I'm not worried about it at all...I'm just going to miss seeing him everyday

BUT this does means I'm going to have free time now and as heartbroken as I am...at least I can devote some time to bth

Hang in there girl! <3 I feel for you. Distance is painful. Skype calls go a long way. Maybe you can go visit him in Maryland in between semesters? If you do, it'd be fun to do a double date with the two of you while you're over here. :3 Hope your classes are going well!

I'm planning on visiting him in a month or so! I have a couple hook-ups at the airport, so it'd be relatively cheap for me to fly /thank god
it's just about finding the right weekend to do so
and I definitely plan on staying with him for awhile during break
and we have plans to call/skype/text etc. everything so i'm not worried!
just...adjusting to the whole distance part will suck

and ohmygosh a double date would be fun! if we have the means/time then why not??

Yay for cheap easy flights! And I totally know what you mean. Shawn and I went from spending a lot of time together during our internship to... well, just weekends during our senior year. It wasn't too bad. He was livng/going to a school two hours away, but his dad worked in Maryland during the week and commuted home on weekends, so he'd pick me up on his way back home. We Skyped every evening during the week while we were at school. Before I met Shawn, my ex was four hours away and I took the train/bus about once a month to see him, so I was used to the distance thing by then. Being able to see my S.O. every weekend was a relief by that point lol. Even if a lot of the time we spent together was just keeping each other company while we did homework, it was still nice.

But a whole 'nother timezone and a flight away, that's harsh. Just gotta make the most of the time you have together. You seem confident that you can make it work, so that's awesome that you feel your relationship is in a strong place for you to do that. It'd be cool if you had a friend at the halfway point who could put you two up for a few days... in like, Indiana or Illinois... ahem ahem I know we've got connections. xD Then it could be a day drive instead of a flight.

Whereabouts in Maryland will he be? Double date is so on. XD

the drive is about 16/22 hrs depending on traffic, and I do have family in Illinois, but it'd still be a 2 day thing. maybe when I come down for a month? but it wouldn't work for a weekend

I'm pretty confident in our relationship, and I don't think it's going to be bad. If it comes down to it I might be moving down there myself in a year after I graduate (I only have 28 credits left? so? 2 semesters) and yeah. I'm confident we'll be fine

I was implying that one of our BTH crew could set you up halfway. I could've sworn one of us was more in between DC and Minnesota. I set up a map last time we talked about it in the Cbox but forgot to put down names. But yeah, it's still quite a ways! Cool that you have family there and might be able to work something out.

I don't know much about Leonardtown. It's kinda close to La Plata, which I've been to before (back in 2002, we were visiting a friend of my parents' and there was a tornado that touched down there while we were driving home that night... we/parents' friend were fine /randomstory).

If we were to double date it would probably be best to meet up in DC. I was hoping he'd be in more northern Maryland. Kinda down that eastern side there is a bit of a ways. I'm sure we'll figure something out, if it happens!

Moving in together would be fun. :3 You learn a lot about someone when you commit to that.

I think Rainy is in Indiana? which is on the way and a bit further than Illinois! I also know that Moony is in Kentucky...but that's a little out of the way x)
otherwise, I can't really remember who else? was it Shiny who was in Pennsylvania? I think so.
and yes!

he definitely wants to take me to DC since I've never been there. I'm sure we can figure something out in the next year or so!

and I think we'd be fine living together, we basically lived together the last couple of months with how close we lived by each other (his apartment was directly behind mine, we shared the same alley) and how often we slept over at each others apartments. I think it'd be fun

Let me tell you distance is hard but totally worth it, my Boyfriend of 2.5 years i met online and he has lived 1000+ miles away that entire time. But with Skype daily and visits it is so so much easier to handle than if we only could text/call.

that's good to hear! and wow! that's so impressive and inspirational!
we definitely plan on skyping as soon as possible and i'm planning on trying to see him at least once a month /fingers crossed.
