life updates??

I remember this being a treat last time, so why not?
it's been a year!

i'm twenty years old, so that's weird.

buuut I finished my second year of college, and I changed my major again. wow. exciting. instead of communications/literate teaching (high school english teacher ughh) I changed it to english writing because the job field is open and vast and far more freeing than our rigid education program. I don't know what I'll end up doing with it but I have big dreams and I love writing and a little website called bth pretty much encouraged me to continue writing, so yeah. I've finished all of me gen-eds, so this august will be the beginning of my first semester of only english courses. I am completely and utterly prepared for death. last semester I took three english classes and was averaging eighty to a hundred pages (to read) per night, and one or two essays a week. so yeah. i'm probably going to die.

but i'm excited.

i recently moved into my first apartment, which has been fun. the bills are stressful as shit and i'm not stoked about working two jobs. it's tiring and customer service can actually eat my ass.i hate people.

hopefully i can find something better. mindless office work sounds so goddamn appealing right now. i would literally prefer to be someone's personal bitch than work in retail/customer service. but all office work pretty much requires some sort of associate's degree/two years of experience. which i don't have. bite me.

i went through a tough break up last fall
one of the reasons i stopped going on bth last year was because i started dating a guy and then stopped dating said guy and was not feeling too great about it
but i have recovered and am full of petty aggression (i hope to someday kick said guy in the face)
however, i am not a quitter and am currently seeing a pretty cool guy that i met in one my english classes and that's been extremely fun and great and he's great and is a super talented artist and v beautiful and ok i'll stop but he's cool

to sum it up i'm just a weird baby adult who's trying her best

Well in about...-check calendar- 11 days i will be 21! -party dance-
And i am getting ready for my 4th year at college. I don't wanna say i'm a Sr just because i have to go one more year after this one, but if you wanna call me a sr so be it. lol I am still a chemistry major (death) and minoring in Math (more death) but i'm really enjoying it and it's opening my eyes to the possibilities that are setting out before me as far as careers and jobs go.

I'm still writing a lot and on top of doing this website i am also doing a couple (like 4) roleplays with one of my future roommates which has actually kept my stress levels down quite a bit. =) I know it seems like a lot, but writing is honestly a passion for me and i just want to do it all the time.

Speaking of writing I am currently working on a story of my own that has my own plot lines, characters and twists. -gasps- I know, i know. I say that i do this a lot, but i actually have this shit planned out (pardon language) and i will finish it. (if you wanna read what i have shoot me a PM and i'll send it to ya. )

I'm still single....>.>
but that is okay! No boyfriend means more study time and no one to steal me away into the night to take me on a long romantic evening for just the two of us.....and now i'm depressed.....
But i'll get over it! I've missed you guys so much and I love every single one of you amazing people!

Survived my first year of college after working my butt off on my classes. Changed my major to just Theology, and added a minor in philosophy. Because I'm a smarty pants and want to work my butt off finding a job in the limited market my degree will offer me (or go on to get a masters degree in it, which according to my professors will open more opportunities). At least it's something I love to do.

Like, all my friends are getting in relationships or getting married and I'm over here going "I just want to make it through college." Singles FTW.

Still working at my retail job. Got a raise to $9.00 so booyah. And finally, after almost two years of complaining, they trained me on cashier. So now I can do other things than boring fitting room attendant.

So in addition to going to classes and working, I'm going to be tutoring at my college. #whydoidothistomyself

In depressing news my remaining Grandpa was diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer last August. Chemo hasn't worked, so...yeah. They are giving him a year at most. Sucks. Sucks big time.

So. Yeah. Adulting is hard. I watched Thomas the Tank Engine and the Magic Railroad this morning. Oh gosh. So many memories. I'm pitiful.

Still working as a UI Developer and now 24. Can't believe I graduated college over two years ago. TuT I miss dorm life. Even though I only lived in the dorms my senior year. It was funtimes. Responsibilities are eww. Although, paychecks are nice, and I'm doing what I love, so I shouldn't really complain.

Shawn and I are still together. We are celebrating our third anniversary in August. So to all you single ladies -- YOU'LL FIND THE ONE DON'T WORRY AND DON'T RUSH IT K. Seriously, I went through two and a half years with a loser boyfriend before I met Shawn just for the sake of having one and it was not worth it. Better to be happy and single while you still can!

We're also starting to save for a house later this year and hope to be in the market by 2018. Looking to move further north because cold weather = win (we live about a half an hour outside of Washington D.C. right now and we're both desperate to move out to the boonies and see the stars at night, haha). Shawn and I work for the same company (though in different departments) and it's very flexible about working remotely, so we're jumping on that as soon as we can afford it.

Also, had a bit of a health scare with a couple grand mal seizures this past year. Started with two last August, was put on meds, my neurologist ran all the tests (CAT scan, MRI, EEG) and everything came back normal, so they took me off the meds, and a couple months later I had more seizures. So... I have epilepsy! Hurray! The meds work well though and keep all the major scary seizures away (though I still experience partial seizures from time to time), so I'm coping. Work has thankfully been very understanding about the whole thing and allowed me to work from home or take off with sick time when I'm having a seizurific day. I have never been more thankful to have health insurance. @_@

@wish -- Woot woot English major! I will send you internship postings for technical writers if we are hiring any for next summer. Office work is da bomb.

@mouse -- Chem/math, woah! That's impressive. 'Grats on the soon-to-be-drinking-age-ness!

@moony -- Theology ftw! So sorry to hear about your grandpa. Sending happy thoughts your way. <3

Mouse i have no idea how you do it, i was fucking ecstatic when i finished my science/math classes, kudos for being the bigger person. also right on. seriously, continue writing. it does wonders. and I'll be twenty-one next march!! i am very excited for that age!!

Moony, also another impressive degree. wow. also congrats on the raise!!! min wage in minnesota is bumping up to $9 on sat. so i'm excited for that. it'll definitely help with rent. and same as Bandit said, i hope things look up for ya (:
and btw that movie...lol...i saw it in theaters and i remember it vividly.

Bandit, yaaaaaas let me know, seriously. i don't know what i'm going to do when it comes to interning and i'm open to anything! also that's incredible that you have such a great job and ughhh congrats with everything, boyfriend, house hunting etc. i'm so jealous. i'm ready to bypass this college stuff and do what i want to do!
the seizures suck though...but i'm glad you figured it out and that it's getting better ((:
