The young spotted cat slowly opened her eyes and blinked at the sunlight that was peering into the den. She slowly lifted her head and yawned shaking her head. She looked around her and smiled some as she looked at the empty nest of her new den-mates. She had only been an apprentice for a few days, but she really enjoyed it here. Slowly getting up and stretching she exited the den and blinked in the bright light. Finally getting used to the lights she slowly moved away from the apprentice den and checked around the camp to see if anything needed to be done, since Blizzardclaw was giving her a day off.

Once she had changed out some moss in the elders den and made sure they had good food to eat she moved over to the edge of the camp and looked around. Near by she spotted some other apprentices sharing tongues and settling down to enjoy some free time while they could. She knew was one of them, but something still made her hesitant to join them. But she had to get to know them. They were her clan mates. Scanning the crowd she perked up a little seeing Smokepaw with them.

She made her way over and cleared her throat some and started to speak but shrunk when nearly everyone looked at her. She kind of froze and her ear laid back some. She kind of stared at them as her mind blank. There were so many eyes on her, many looking confused or worried. SHe swallowed and tried to collect her thoughts. What was she going to say? Oh yeah.

"H-Hey guys," she mewed softly, I-I was wondering i-if you wanted to d-do something. Like, play a game or go hunt or something."
Her voice lost it's momentum toward the end realizing she had just asked them to play. They were apprentices, not kits. Oh she would never hear the end of it.

'Dapplepaw? She still be a kit!'
'Did she really ask us to play? How old is she again?'

The taunts kept filling her head and her ears laid back more. She lowered her gaze to her paws. Now she really wished Ratkit was here with her. She wouldn't be so scared if he had been here.

<sup>Icepaw stretched her muscles and stared at her sister, Glazepaw was lazily shaking the debris off her fur. They both yawned and continued to stay quiet, the Sandy Hollow was empty now, a few apprentices, along with them, had been practicing their battle moves through small and harmless mock fights. At first they thought it was fun, Icepaw liked how the apprentices tried to find a chink in their teamwork when they insisted one could take both of them since technically the she-cats counted as one cat. Glazepaw thought it was fun to take them on at such uneven odds. It was a foolish idea, two against one was a humongous disadvantage to begin with but taking on two cats that trained together everyday was even more foolish. Some gave quite a fight and for seconds the twins thought they were about to lose but they always had a sneaky little plan up their paws.

Eventually they grew bored before the strongest apprentices could have their go under the notion that the game was no longer entertaining therefore they should dispose of it. They laid down in the trees and observed the apprentices go about their fights, Icepaw stared and smiled from time to time, Glazepaw fell asleep. When the youngest managed to wake her sister up they padded back to camp.

Upon entering they were met with the most curious of sights, little Dapplepaw, the newest addition to the apprentice roster staring at the agglomeration of apprentices that were sharing tongues. She looked frightened, it seemed she was not used to hanging out with the “big cats” just yet. Glazepaw shot Icepaw a playful grin, which she returned with an eager nod. They approached the spotted apprentice just as she had finished speaking, poor mongrel of fur looked scared senseless so the twins did what they were best at. They talked.

“That sounds delightful!” Icepaw chirped from behind walking towards Dapplepaw’s left side, most likely surprising the little apprentice. “Games are always fun!” Glazepaw continued standing on the other side of the apprentice. “Except when you-” mewed the youngest “grow bored of them,” finished the eldest. They both snickered and walked slowly, changing sides. “I think everyone would love a game,” Icepaw made a notion towards their denmates, “quite so, especially after their session in Sandy Hollow,” Glazepaw’s mismatched eyes twinkled playfully. “So do make it interesting,” both twins spoke at the same time smiling first at each other and then at Dapplepaw.</sup>
