The next day after the Gathering, Whiteheart hadn't been able to sit still. He grieved for the loss of Morningstreak, since she had been a great warrior, but he felt as if staying the the camp wasn't a good thing for him. Seeing her lying there, it brought memories of a black she-cat he had grown rather fond of back to the front of his memories. He sighed some and looked up at the sky. His missed her so much...but he couldn't dwell on it. Not right now.

He lowered his gaze back to his clan mates that were roaming around and his eyes rested on his apprentice. They hadn't been out in a while, and Jadepaw probably hated his guts for putting off her training even more. He pulled himself up and slowly walked over to her toughing her lightly with his tail to get her attention.
"Come on, let's go get some fresh air," he mewed then turned and led her out of the camp into the cold wind.

Okay, maybe this wasn't the best idea in the world. The cold wind bit through his fur as he tensed his muscles against the blasts. They wouldn't stay out long. Cloudstep would chew them up and down if either one of them got sick. He hadn't really planned this training for once. Usually he had something in mind when they went out, but...Maybe there was something Jadepaw wanted to work on.

Leading her down into a small gully near the abandoned badger set, he uncurled some. The wind wasn't as strong here, only a few gusts of wind. He turned to his apprentice and laid his Blue eyes on her.
"Do you have anything you want to work on Jadepaw, I know we haven't trained a whole lot, but that's my fault."
He didn't mind admitting that. He knew he was young, but so far, he didn't think he had proven that he was a great mentor yet.

JADEPAW

The camp was silent this morning. The news from last night’s gathering as well as the death of Windclan’s deputy, Morningstreak, was still fresh in everyone’s mind. Soft whispers were carried in the cool breeze all around Jadepaw. Her eyes were trained on the fresh kill pile successfully blocking out the breeze and the whispers of her clan-mates. She noted the low level the stock was and contemplated about seeing if Tanglepaw wanted to sneak out with her and do some hunting by themselves since no one around here seemed to be taking notice of the pitiful pile.

Jade colored eyes narrowed in consideration with her plan when something softly brushed against her shoulder. Standing next to her was her mentor, his blue eyes looking down at her. At his words Jadepaw stood from her spot and limped after the tom. ”Nice to see you again, stranger.” The tortoiseshell retorted keeping to Whiteheart’s side and dodging the dead debris from the tunnel walls.

Jadepaw squeaked as a gust of cold air blew into her face as soon as they stepped out of the camp’s entrance and into the open moors. She let out a sneeze as the wind slowly let up, ”Are you trying to kill me?” Jadepaw bit out glancing side-ways at her mentor. Her question was left unanswered as Whiteheart took refuge down in a small gully from the chilly wind. Jadepaw follow closed behind.

The tortoiseshell she-cat silently thanked Starclan for her long thick coat as she fluffed it out, hoping to bring some kind of warmth back into her small body. The gully blocked most of the strong gusts keeping the space at the bottom of it it more tolerable then the air above. Jadepaw turned to her mentor as words left his mouth. She lowered her chin and eye lids at his statement, ”I know it’s your fault.” She slowly blinked, ”It’s been so long, I think we should reintroduce ourselves, shall we? I’m Jadepaw and you are?” She boldly replied flicking her long tail to get rid of the excess snow that caught onto it, ”I noticed the kill pile was low,” She murmured glancing up at Whiteheart with a serious gaze, ”Maybe we can just see if we can catch anything.” She fluffed up her chest, ”Besides I’m up to date with all of my training, I’m practically a warrior anyways, wouldn’t you say?” She smugly meowed.

Whiteheart watched his apprentice closely and chose to ignore the comment of reintroducing themselves. He felt bad that he had waited so long to continue her training. When she mentioned something about hunting he nodded some in agreement. The pile was running low and hunting would also help them stay warm. Jade paw was at a slight advantage since her fur was a little thicker, but they still didn't need to stay out to long. He could just feel Cloudstep tearing into him because they got sick.

When the statement of almost being a warrior reached his ears he sighed and looked at her. "there is more to being a warrior than knowing how to hunt, fight and track," he mewed firmly, "It's about understanding your clan rules and the boundaries, knowing your clan-mates and knowing about the other clans. A warrior must be logical in everything they do."

He sat there and let his words sink in for a moment. They might fall on deaf ears, but at least he had spoken his mind. He slowly stood and shook the snow out of his fur, not like you could see it but he could feel it. He sniffed the air some. This would be interesting for Jadepaw to search for prey here.

"alright, you say your warrior material. Lead us to some prey," he said calmly watching her.
