Icepaw
pictures; x
Age: 7 moons.
Gender: Female.
Rank: Apprentice.
Clan: ThunderClan.
Short Description: White she-cat with a right blue eye and a left green one.
Appearance:
They’re practically the same, in fact if it weren’t for their eyes it would impossible to tell them apart, not that eyes make the task any easier or their clanmates. It is not an uncommon occurrence when you call them by switched names, they like it since they like to make fun of you. With a sleek and lithe body these she-cat’s movements are graceful and flow like a silvery river, their steps are nimble and usually quiet, with perfect coordination not common in cats so young. Both have pretty pink noses as well as equally rosy pads and ears. With the most immaculate white fur that keeps the cold away it is also good in keeping the heat away, soft and silky a true treat to the touch, again both the exact same copy, almost impossible to spot a difference. They like moving in unison so the task to tell them apart is suddenly harder, they do it on purpose, they like to confuse you, to circle you, they really enjoy it when you get confused.
Now differences, even they have little things, little traits that make them individuals. Granted there are not many of them. The most notorious one are the eyes, Icepaw’s eyes consist of a left blue one and a right amber one, the opposite of her sister’s. Another difference would be the small almost invisible scar Icepaw has one her right ankle, but there is not much to tell them apart, not physically at least.
Personality:
You might think they’re exactly the same, Glazepaw and Icepaw, they might seem to be the same for several reasons, for instance they complete each other’s sentences, talk in unison and can communicate perfectly with just looking at each other, their steps are usually coordinated and both seem to be mischievous to no end. Granted they’re always together, it is almost impossible to see them apart, they eat together, sleep together, walk together, hunt together and train together, if you see one of them alone expect the other to be nearby. But have you ever wondered why? Why do they have to be together to an almost desperate extent? That is because being together is the source of their confidence, Glazepaw’s confidence mostly but Icepaw’s too. Get them together you get a pair of confident she-cats ready to play confusing games and pull off the most impressive of shenanigans, get them apart and the differences between the two are more evident.
Once you get to know them, to really know them, these traits become more apparent, in little twitches of their whiskers, a glint in their eyes or even the way they talk. Truth is they’re very different in many ways you just can’t really see it because they don’t want you to see it.
Take Icepaw, the younger twin, she’s more calm in her movements and is the ‘mature’ one of the duo, unlike her sister she can keep her emotions at bay and is very aware of her surroundings, she’s the ‘insightful’ sibling and knows when a joke has been taken too far or when its not the most convenient time to play a prank. Don’t get her wrong, she’s just as playful as her sister she’s just more easy-going and flexible. The voice of reason when Glazepaw is exasperated and the only one that can keep calm when they’re separated, she’s relaxed and more laid-back. Icepaw likes to see the bigger picture, she likes to take everything into consideration before she takes any action, she’s protective of her sister but still likes to push her to try new things, she really enjoys encouraging her twin in her own cool way she truly lives up to the ‘ice’ prefix. She’s the ‘passive’ one usually allowing her sister to lead, she prefers to make suggestions or to discreetly stir her sister in certain directions; however she’s the one that gets them out of trouble most commonly by talking. She’s more sociable and it is actually pretty easy to talk to her, she willingly helps her sister understand herself and others, if she had a friend she would help them too. She aids Glazepaw by managing her emotions and feelings, consequence being her sister’s social skills and emotional control are undeveloped making her even more protective of her thus creating a vicious circle. She’s the only sibling aware of the strong co-dependence they share, she knows it keeps them from truly developing into individuals but she also knows it’s the only thing that keeps them from falling apart. She’s less dependent on Glazepaw and can function normally without her around (this doesn’t mean she likes to be alone, she prefers her sister’s company).
She too likes to play ‘The Liar Game’, it’s a game she made up with her sister that consists of guessing who the liar is. One of the twins will be the ‘liar’ and the other will be the ‘honest’, the first version of the game consists of trying to guess who is the liar, you only get one question you must ask to only one of them, you also only get one guess. In the second version of the game, which they invented when apprentices, they hide and object, anything, really; you have to guess who is the liar and where they hid your object, you get two questions. This is her favorite version as well as the first one. She plays the game “Guess the Glaze” as well but prefers the other games since “Guess the Glaze” hurts her a little when they can’t tell them apart.
History:
It doesn’t make sense, they brought it to themselves, that pair of peculiar apprentices always together buried deep in their own personal world. Or maybe they didn’t? Oh, I don’t know, who am I to judge? I’ll leave the judging to you.
These pair of white she-cats are not true ThunderClan cats, not technically at least. Some could argue they were in fact raised in ThunderClan so they could be considered true part of the clan, but bottom line is there is not a single drop of clan blood running through their veins. Their mother was a loner and their father a kittypet, not a very promising line, eh? Well, the she-cat that gave birth to them left them in the small line that separates kittypet nests from wildcat territory, she thought that they would either be taken in by a no-fur and raised to be plump and carefree, or be killed or raised by the odd group of cats that made the forest their home.
It was a ThunderClan patrol who heard their mewls and caterwauls. They took them to the leader and then tossed them in the nursery where they were raised by various queens and never got attached to any. It was clear from the start the she-kits, dubbed Icekit and Glazekit, shared a deep mental and emotional bond. They completed each other’s sentences, sometimes talked in unison, one could even see them mimicking each other’s movements perfectly… but there was one thing you could be sure of, they were absolutely always together and they weren’t fond of company. Ever since they were kits there was something mischievous about them, they liked playing pranks, making a fool of the rest of their denmates… this made them the least likeable of kits but they didn’t care, they played alone and with no real mother to scold them they always got away with everything.
Before they even realized it they were alone, trapped deep in their own personal world with all doors and windows bolted shut.
So they grew up, one moon, two moons… waiting dreadfully for their sixth moon, they didn’t like it, didn’t want to be apprentices because it would mean separation. Until they were named apprentices, they managed to trick their mentors, remain together for as long as they could but not always, there are time when you can catch them alone, at their weakest and most vulnerable, it is perhaps the only situation where their windows and doors are a little open. Maybe if you catch them at their weakest you will learn to tell them apart.
