Name: Ginger-root
Gender: Female
Age: 21 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Short Description: Orange and white she-cat with violet eyes
Appearance: At first glance, Ginger-root appears to be an average orange tabby she-cat, albeit somewhat smaller than her siblings. Her light pelt is streaked by dark, rusty stripes that scurry down her side and legs and border her petite face. These crimson marks sharply contrast her white paws and chest, but the pale coloration blends neatly at her chin, where the orange and white softly merge, reminiscent of sand on a sun-warmed beach. Her forehead is marked with the signature tabby "M" and topped with a dark orange ring. Similar rings encase her tail, which ends in a small gathering of white hairs. Despite her archetypal pelt, Ginger-root's bright violet eyes starkly differ from the norm. Their amethyst color may suggest that her gaze is penetrating and intimidating, but the she-cat maintains a gentle and inquisitive regard for all her Clanmates. Her paws are an airy white, almost as though they were dipped in snowfall. Though her rounded ears are shorter than most, they stand alert and attentive, eager to take in and analyze every sound. Her pink paw pads are large and wide, giving her broad, light steps, reminiscent of snowshoes. This allows her to move quietly and further avoid conflicts.
Personality: Generally timid and wary of new experiences, Ginger-root possessed a strange sense of caution that most apprentices lack at such a young age. Though she may not always admit it, she does not easily believe in the typical superstitions of the average Clan cat. Her tendency to question StarClan often startles many of her fellow felines, but serves to prove that she is still young and immature, despite her eagerness to learn and the knowledge that she craves. Her curiosity has led her to stumbling into a number of unfortunate situations, further proving her dislike of fighting. While she is not one to flee from battle, her instincts tend to freeze her in place when faced with an adversary, a trait she is not particularly proud of. She would much prefer to negotiate peacefully than resort to extending her claws. Quite the philosopher at heart, Ginger-root's mental and verbal abilities may be slightly above those of the average cat. She would make a fine little strategist if she were more inclined to battle, but her interests lie more in learning more about the world about her rather than combat. A bit of a dreamer, Ginger-root enjoys quiet reflection over all else.
History: Born to Silentpool of RiverClan, Ginger-root, then Gingerkit, was the silent observer of the litter. She had little interest in play, and her fighting skills noticeably suffered because of her dislike for violence. This obvious fault may cause difficulties for her new mentor, Lionstrike, as he teaches her the techniques she will need to know to defend RiverClan. Eager to learn, but hesitant to raise a paw to strike another cat, her lessons were rather difficult. Spending more time dodging and defending than lashing out, her training was not easy for Lionstrike. She spent most of her time taking more notice of the types of trees surrounding the arena, and the location of birds nests around the camp. These details, though seemingly insignificant, mattered a great deal to Ginger-root, who took great pride in the memorization and recitation of facts. One of her favorite past-times included naming the species of birds calling out into the morning air. Her mind thrived in the tranquility of solitude, and she much preferred to venture out on her own to discover nature in her own time than spend time with her fellow apprentices.
Ginger-root was made a warrior a several moons after her littermates, as her peaceful tendencies resulted in her being held back. It was only after a long and harrowing argument with her mentor that she was even considered for advancement. The disagreement resulted in a fight, during which she displayed her potential in battle. Though Ginger-root was not the least bit proud of her aggressive display -- which was quite possibly the only instance in her entire life where she lost her temper -- the she-cat accepted her warrior name (though begrudgingly). Despite her new status as a warrior, her introverted personality remained. Ginger-root has largely kept to herself and has limited her adventures, wary of the (supposed, to her) dangers that lurk outside of the safety of RiverClan's camp. The shy she-cat's future as a warrior is uncertain.
