The fleeing shape of a fish splashed away as he was left his paw limp and dripping over the water. A hiss escaped his lips, his tail flickered in frustration. The black tom had been fishing all morning. He desperately wanted to go back to camp, but he forced himself not to after the tussle with the deputy about joining the dawn patrol because Nightclaw had been doing nothing but border patrols all yesterday and he wanted to instead put his energy into hunting, and so in rebellion he went off on his own and lead his own hunting patrol out to the river. He didn't know if it was just his anger getting the best of him or what, but he could not catch a single thing. He surely didn't want to come back empty pawed, especially after the scene he made, but at the rate he was going he wasn't going to bring back anything impressive until sundown. Nightclaw couldn't keep doing this for that long, though, because no matter how much he brought back, it would not justify how long he was gone. Clenching up, he concentrated harder, migrating toward a different, untouched part of the river filled with naive fish just waiting, waiting to be catched. Now if I could catch them... He settled down his dark body beside the river, close but not too close, to the water's edge. He leaned back, to be positively sure his reflection nor shadow hovered over the surface of the hazy liquid. His green eyes studied the water intensely, watching for any sliver of movement. Judging the distance between his claws and his intended target, he calmed his impatient mind, all his attention directed toward one goal. One goal he could not fail. One goal that might change his luck from here on out. One goal that would alter his winnings from 0 to 1. He had to do this. Sploosh! His paw plunged rather neatly into the still water, his claws stretched out to hook the unexpected fish in his grasp. His heart quickened as he realized he had barely caught his prey, only the tips of his claws sinking into the brink of the fish's threshold. Desperate to fling the fish out before it released itself from his light hold, he flashed his paw back out, the fish flying into the air as his paw found air again. The glistening form bounced on top of Nightclaw's head while he was still in the midst of confusion in his rapid search to find the lost prey, and tumbled toward the edge of the river. Anger at the misfortune landing was replaced by fear as the fish harshly wiggled its body toward the safety of the water. At the moment the fish touched the water, Nightclaw's forepaws clutched around the fish's body, but the imbalance gave him away into the water. Not letting the sudden disadvantage distract him, he found his hold by digging his claws into the wall of the river before his whole body could follow the same fate as his upper half, and with great speed he caught the fish's body in his teeth before it could be carried away. Finding balance again, he crawled his way backwards out of the river, his jaws triumphantly still holding the fish. Regaining composure, he stared down at where he clumsily made his catch, embarrassment now enfolding him. At least I got this stupid fish.. [/style]

Watching and waiting Feathermist let the wind blow by her as she watched the tom catch a fish. Raising an eyebrow she finally saw him catch it and come back onto the bank. Taking in a deep breath she stepped out of the shadows and padded towards the tom and mewed, ''Well.. I guess that's one way to catch a fish.'' Stopping a few feet in front of the dead fish she looked at it then slowly looked up at the tom with flirtatious eyes and took her time. She looked over the half wet tom and felt her heart pounding fast. Of course her heart always pounded with any tom she was around. She had a way to make their hearts pound also. Her green eyes looked right into his with no blinking. Silence filled the air for what seemed like a moon. Raising her head a bit she padded towards the tom and let her tail run under his chin her beautiful white black and grey fur blowing in the wind she padded to the edge of the river and looked down then back at him over her shoulder with a little smile and mewed, ''Teach me?''

He really hoped that no one was watching, but it was to his surprise and misfortune that it had to be the most self-conceded cat in the whole Clan to see his clumsy act: Feathermist. Nightclaw puffed out stubbornly against her enticing touch, not daring to step into her territory. He knew he was just a victim and wasn't some specially treated tom who she went after for his looks. It was her little game she played to make every tom she meets her slave. He never was victim before, but he has not only seen it happen time and time again, but has heard numerous stories about boasting about being laid by the most 'prettiest' she-cat in RiverClan or how they were once again hit on by her. Nightclaw knew she must really desperate/horny to be hitting on not only him as a cat (no one ever seemed to want to be around him) and on top of that in this nasty condition and embarrassing stunt he just pulled. He sure knew he wasn't the most attractive cat right now, physically and impressive-wise. Grabbing the fish in his jaws he stubbornly strutted away from her delicious body and eyes, giving his pelt a violent shake to at least somewhat redeem his attire by drying it a little, but it seemed to only make it worse by forming black spikes all over the upper part of his body. Still, he kept his pride, his head and tail raised high. "I don't need your pity," he snorted through his prey. "Why don't you flaunt around some other tom? I'm sure there are other males that are too stupid to think about anything but sex." Shit, he really had to admit secretly that she was good at what she did. Even a tom that wasn't desperate would fall for her sexy mannerism. If it wasn't for his thick-headedness, even with that small touch he would be under her spell.

Feathermist narrowed her eyes at the tom and his rude ass comment. Keeping it together like she was always able to do so well. Giving a snort back Feathermist was really good at playing the other cats game. They got pissed at her she will get pissed at them. It's that fight fire with fire saying. If you fight fire with Feathermist you kindle that fire to make be something more. You can not put this out. Puffing out her chest and speaking his language in a way she growled, ''I just asked you to help me fish why are you being such a jerk. No wonder why you don't have any friends, and you don't need to come back with a stupid come back saying I don't have any friends either, I don't need friends, I have myself and that's all I'll ever need. And another thing I wasn't thinking about sex. But maybe we now know who is.'' giving an evil smile she padded away from the riverside and flaunted her stuff in such a small way you wouldn't know she was flaunting anything. It takes years of practice for this she cat to get her point across. This tom might be not interested in her she knew that she really did. Yet just some how when toms were not interested in her she had a way to make them want her even if it was just for a second. A hot second she was able to make it happen. Padding past the tom with the fish in his mouth she stood tall and looked right into his eyes and whispered, ''Fish face..'' and padded into the forest letting her hide quarters rock side to side with her tail moving in the same motion as her hips. Paw steps being light and gentle over the leaves stopping for a split second she looked back at the grouchy tom with an eyebrow raised and a smirk on her face.

It was already bad enough he had been ignored all his life, let alone for it to be spat out right in front of his face. His sleek black fur tingled with repressed anger and a tinge of guilt, self-pity absorbing him as she accused him of his loneliness being all his fault. You know, you would think he would be even more accustomed and flamboyant about his outcast rank in his own Clan than Feathermist. But, the difference between her and him was that fact that at least she had a way to get someone to want her. Maybe not in the way he would prefer, but nevertheless. Dropping his fresh-kill again he meowed sarcastically,"I'm sorry, but if you knew I was such a jerk, why else would you just randomly come up to me and make 'innocent' conversation if you didn't have alterior motives? Face it, babe, everyone knows what you are after. It's no secret you talk to toms for more than a reason to talk." He was going to add And that's the only reason cats talk to you, too, bitch. but he knew he was setting up a trap for himself because all she would say is that at least cats talked to her. Nightclaw wasn't exactly sure if he was heard or not because the pretty long-haired she-cat was already walking away. He was right about to turn the other way back to camp with his fish, giving up on making up lost time, when Feathermist seemed to be teasing him onward to either continue this little fight they were having or to make it clear she had won, which either reason inevitably got reason one done anyway. At first, he decided to ignore her, not giving in to temptation. He had already said everything he wanted to say. But leaving it at that didn't feel good enough, didn't feel satisfying. He at least wanted some sort of reply before setting off. Because maybe he did win and didn't know it? Taking a step toward her leaving form he hissed, "What are you smirking at?"
