Truth be told, Blazingpaw liked it better here. And that was saying a lot coming from a grump like him. The pine needles always felt odd under the rough surface of his pads. But here, the mud oozed between his toes. It felt cool, and it was relaxing. Instead of being surrounded merely by pines they had more of a variety. This camp seemed much more protected, and the land seemed much more fitting. They were the dark heart of the forest anyway. Perhaps his favorite thing about the new territory was the secret tunnel. It laid beneath the Thunderpath, and it led straight into the depths of Thunderclan territory. He wasn't one to attack other clan patrols, but if he were; Starclan that'd be perfect. Another thing that spiked his interest was the lack of deputy. Nightstar was newly made leader a couple moons ago, and yet he has ceased to appoint a new deputy.[bg=000000][atrb=border,0,true]
Sure, Blazingpaw missed his former mentor, but he was itching for a new deputy. The main reason why? If a deputy is chosen it will signal ceremony in everyone's minds. And who out of all of the apprentices deserved a ceremony more than anyone else? Him. The multi-colored tom had been an apprentice for moons on end. It was high time that he became a warrior. He was sure that tonight, when Nightstar appointed the new deputy he would make him a warrior as well. Lifting his chin he challenged anyone who looked at him. Just they wait, soon they'll be equals. A toothy grin slid across his face.
No longer could warriors scold him. No longer would he be looked down upon for being a mere apprentice. Tonight he'd be able to prove himself to the clan as a promising warrior. Blazingpaw was sure he had proven that along the journey. He had starved with his clan, hunted for them, and protected them from danger. By now he should have earned their respect. Even if he was a back talking, good for nothing, snot-nosed brat. He glanced around hoping to catch a lazy apprentice, with nothing to do. Arcticpaw The tom padded up to the white she-cat.
The memory of their last meeting was still fresh in his mind. One moment she had been spewing insults, the next giving in. She was peculiar, and he didn't understand it. Arcticpaw wasn't like Honeypaw. No, he could understand that she-cat. Just not this one. Blazingpaw raised his brows,
"Guess who's becoming a warrior tonight?" He flashed a grin.
