Name: Astrid/Squirrel ((Explained in personality))
Age: 8 moons
Gender: she-cat
Rank: Loner
Clan: None
Short Description: Light gray she-cat with a really bushy tail and olive green eyes.
Appearance: Astrid is rather small and petite for her age. He frame is rather small and it looks like she never eats, but she stuffs herself full with barn mice. Her pelt runs smoothly over her bones and nothing looks stretched or sagging. No unusual disfigures mess up her body although her legs are a little longer than normal, but not by much.
Her pelt is a soft storm cloud gray. On full moon nights if the moon light hits her right her pelt seems to glow. She rarely lets it get messy but every now and again it might get a little matted. But she always does her best to look presentable. Her fur length isn't annoyingly long but it has some length to it. The one thing that really sticks out though is her tail. It is very very bushy. She is constantly keeping it neat and tidy since she thinks that tis the essence of her being.
Her face and head are small but it's not so small that everything's scrunched. Her ever are a soft olive green and her nose is a light pink color. Her whiskers, thought many don't think she has them, are think and white. Astrid never sees herself as being attractive at all...but several toms can think differently.
Personality: When you get around this she-cat...expect your ears to be talked off. Astrid is not very shy at all, and if she is you can never tell it. When this she-cat gets nervous she talks a lot. Most cats can get easily annoyed with her, but if you're really nice, you'll tolerate her until she can calm down.
Once Astrid gets to really know you, you an see her true side. She is a very wonderful and loyal friend to have. She doesn't try to judge depending on what clan you're from or what you've done. As she sees it, everyone's made mistakes so why keep bringing them up? She Loves hearing people's stories and if they have problems she loves to figure them out. She is very smart and a great tracker of the land. She knows just about every nook and cranny of the clan territories.
Although Astrid is a good friend, she can get hyper really easily. And when she's hyper you never know what she's going to do. She could be talking and then all of a sudden be bounding after a bug or pouncing on you. Most of the other cats there, loner and kitty-pets mostly, call her Squirrel for her spazziness. She lives with the nickname, but she prefers to be called Astrid.
History: Astrid is a descendant of the great Barley himself. Since the tom had lived in the barn his family had never left the barn. It had been home to several cats and families through generations and Astrid is it's most recent resident. Being the only kit of loving parents, Astrid grew up hearing the stories of the clans since she could understand what she was saying. Her father, Storm, told her most of the stories and her mother, Copper, would add comment or correct him if he was wrong. As a kit she would always reenact the battles of the clans or the journey's the clan cats took. She learned how to hunt and fight by her father who had learned form his parents. Sadly, when Astrid was 5 moons old both her parents grew ill and died. Astrid was thrown into the world alone....but then things took a strange turn.
The small gray she-cat was stalking around outside the barn when she heard the noises. They sounded like cats, and a lot of cats at that. She climbed up on a bolder and gasped. There were tons of them! And then scents that came from them were weird. She slowly climbed down, not wanting to be seen. There were two leaders with them, two ginger cats. What were this many cats doing here? They all looked tired. As she got closer she heard some of them talking.
"Are we here?"
"I see a barn..."
"Maybe we are here..."
Astrid stopped a ways away and crouch quietly. She didn't want to be seen but where could this many cats be heading? It was the only thing that would come to mind.
"i smell something." growled a cat looking her way. Astrid froze as several large toms started her way. he turned and took off, paws following behind her. She was dead. These cats looked really mean. Suddenly she was tackled, she rolled and landed with a "Oof." against the side of the barn. She got in a crouch nd hissed.
"it's just a kit, Owltlaon..." replied a gray she-cat.
"What is a kit like you doing all alone out here?" asked the brown tabby tom walking over.
"I...I live here." she stammered. "This has been my family's barn since my great great great great great great great great grandfather, Barley, lived here." she murmured quietly quivering.
"Barley? Isn't that a cat who used to live here? We must be back at the clan territories." replied a light tabby she-cat getting excited.
"calm down, suneyes. Maybe so...bt we're in no condition to travel on right now." replied owltalon quietly.
"You can stay at my barn." offered Astrid slowly standing up. "There's plenty of room."
The cats looks at her and soon the clan were situated into the barn...
As Astrid got the clans settled into the territories, she became more of an ally for all the clans. She shared stories with most of the other cats her age even shared forgotten battle moves with warriors. The two ginger cats, Dawn and Dusk, asked if they could stay with her in the barn for a while and soon they all become very good friends. However Astrid knew peace wouldn't last forever. Many apprentices from different clans had asked if she would join their clan and watched many tussle over the argument. After too many tussles between apprentices, Astrid had made her decision. She asked to have a meeting between all the leaders at fourtrees and she told them.
Astrid sat in the middle of the gathering home, quivering slightly as she watched the stars dance above her. She had made her choice and on this clear night, she felt like Starclan had agreed with her. With the rustling of bushes she looked over toward the thunderclan territory and smiled as Owlstar stepped in. He smiled and padded over nodding in greeting.
"Astrid, i must say, when you first came to tell me there was going to be a meeting of the leaders...i fear for the worst." he murmured.
"I know the land, owlstar. I can't predict the future." she mewed quietly, her nervousness slowly fading.
"Many might wonder, young one." replied Sunstar padding in with Snowflower, the deputy from riverclan. Astrid remembered that they hadn't come up with a leader yet. They needed to choose one soon.
"I take that as a compliment sunstar." she said bowing slightly at the new leader as Nightstar came in.
"Alright we can start now." he mewed settling down, a confident air running from him.
"okay..." replied Astrid softly, and stood up as the other made themselves comfortable. "Many of your clan members have been asking me which clan I'm going to join. I put no fault on you, but i figured with you being head cats in your clan you can make them understand my decision." she mewed softly looking at each leader.
Owlstar was watching her almost hoping she would come to them. Sunstar watched her with patience and understanding. Snowflower looked slightly confused but considerate and Nightstar remained quiet and thoughtful.
"I'm not joining a clan. I'll be an ally to all the clans." she mewed confidently. All the leaders were quiet fora moment before Snowflower spoke up.
"And what happens if a fight breaks out between the two clans?" she asked.
"Then i stay out of it. I want to make friends in all clans and I'm not going to mess that up over having to choose. i will never tie myself to a clan in any way. That is my decision."
The leaders nodded with understanding. Soon everyone was gone and Astrid was left alone in the light of the stars...
Astrid has now been living in the barn and takes a trip to the clans about every moon. She's glad the clans have finally found their home, but wonders what adventure lie ahead of her. Only starclan knows.
