Although it was just a mere second within her long, complicated life, tonight she'd be his. Tails intertwined, Mothstorm led the Thunderclan tom towards Windclan territory. Instead of staying close to the lake shore she found herself delicately stepping across the springy moor grass. A warm breeze buffeted her fur, purring she meowed lightly, "Promise me that you'll remember me when you've grown old." she murmured, pressing against his silver coat. A soft smile graced her features. For as long as she lived she'd never forget this tom, he was special, her first love. Even when they head their separate paths there wouldn't be a moment where he'd leave her thoughts. Looking up at his soft amber eyes she chirped, "I know I couldn't forget you."

A slight chuckle broke the eerie silence, "Race you." she breathed. With a bounce in her step she shot off across the moor ground. She felt free, no longer restricted by the warrior code. Not tonight. Tonight only her heart led her, and she never felt better. The taint of Windclan began to wither away as she bounded further and further from Windclan's territory. A rocky out ledge drew her to a halt. With gasping breaths she smiled, "Beat you."

Staring out upon the land she found her breath catch in her throat, "Where do you want to stay?" There were many nooks and crannies in the out lands. She feared stumbling into an already housed den. But even more she feared loosing her time with him. Casting him a gaze, "I don't care, as long as I'm with you."

Hawkeyes felt the silver she-cat tail intertwined with his tabby striped tail, purring he dippied his head and silently followed the she-cat toward the Windclan territory. His mind swirled with happiness when the she-cat's fur was gently ruffled by a light breeze, he knew he would never ever foget this night. Blinking the thought away he shoke his head,
"I would never forget you, I promise." He purred gently licking the tip of her ear. He looked down at the she-cat to meet her beautiful green gaze looking deep in his. A small smile started cresting across his face, but it was soon gone as the she-cat all of a sudden took off, with barely enough time to get the words into his head.

With surprise Hawkeyes streaked after the she-cat. Her silver pelt glowed in the moonlight, making her breathe taking. Hawkeyes slammed on the brakes when Mothflight stop, Hawkeyes had to jump to the side to miss the she-cat. Hawkeyes playfully smacked his tail against her ears as he sarcastically growled at the she-cat,
" Thanks for the warning, I couldn't have made you fall down that ledge." With curious eyes Hawkeyes walked up to the edge and took a quick glance down it, but shaking his head he quickly turned his attention back to the she-cat,
" We can find a nice warm den, I guess, but I don't know this land exactly..." He meowed shrugging his lean shoulders.

Mothstorm opened her mouth, she could scent water--following the peculiar smell she was astounded to find a small trickling stream. Flicking her tail she motioned for Hawkeyes to follow her. Pursuing the origin of the stream she trailed the trickling liquid upstream until it brought her to a small cave. Curious she poked her head into the cavern. The top was carved out, creating a skylight. The stream occupied the center of the den but the sides were soft and sandy. Purring she intertwined tails with Hawkeyes once more, "It's absolutely beautiful."

Bringing him to the left side of the cavern she leisurely laid out upon the sand. It was surprisingly comfortable, the sand formed around her body. Blinking she delightfully meowed to the tom, "Join me, it's warm and soft."

From this point on Mothstorm made sure not to forget any moment. Tonight was the only night he'd ever be hers. Not any other night; when the dawn's lights hit the world he'll be Spottedwind's. Closing her eyes she let a single tear whisk it's way down her cheek, stifling a sob she meowed softly, "I don't want the night to end. I'm going to miss you so much."

But she already made her promise, he was stuck between both of them. She was being selfish, only wanting him for herself. But how could she help herself when she wanted him so much? Surely she wanted him so much more than Spottedwind, surely she didn't love him as much as she did? But as she gazed into his eyes she only saw herself staring back. He loved her; yes. But he also loved Spottedwind, and she had to deal with that.

"I love you." she whispered.

And when she woke up that morning beside his lean body she didn't regret any moment.

So if it's just tonight,

Hawkeyes slowly opened his pale amber eyes, to see a faint light shine through the entrance of the cave. Blinking with surprise he had almost forgot where he was for a mere second until his eyes landed on the small silver form of Mothflight. Lifting his head he slowly sat up, keeping his gaze on the sleeping form. Smiling a small purr erupted in his throat as he gently laid his muzzle of Mothflight's shoulder,
"Morning lovely." Hawkeyes eyes opened wide, Lovely? is that the best you can do? Pushing back the thought he quickly snapped back to the she-cat, she looked so peaceful, and happy. The happiest that he had ever seen. Deep down the tom knew he would never be able to forget the she-cat, but he had to do this for his clan, and he knew she would find another tom better than him to keep her happy. Another purr erupted in his throat as the she-cat finally began to stir from her sleep.

'Morning Lovely' Those sweet, sickly intoxicating words stuck to her like glue. With a purr she languorously rolled over onto her side, her fur rubbing against his. Eyes opened into slits she meowed lazily, "Morning already?" Her words were laden with sorrow, she was desperately trying to hold onto every minute she had with Hawkeyes. But as the bright new-leaf sun showered down on them she knew she had to face the truth. Facing the tom she smiled slightly, "Remember me always?" she inquired, her eyes bright she nuzzled him gratefully, "I'm happy you chose to stay with me."

For the last time she intertwined her tail with his and led him to his paws. Giving him a hard nudge she reminded him, "From this point on we're enemies." Tears glittered at the pits of her eyes but she mustn't let them fall, she was going to be strong.

Leading him out of the den she gazed out at the world. Shadowclan's pines towered in the distance, hinting at the life she'd have to return to. With a sigh she turned to gaze towards him, "She's absolutely lovely." her words contained hardly a taint of jealously. She was sure within his heart he'd always love her, just as she would always love him. And perhaps when they both roam Starclan's sky they can finally be together, free of the codes that bind them.

"I hope I can find someone who loves me just as much as Spottedwind loves you." Padding forward she touched her tail tip to the bridge of his nose, throwing her head over her shoulders she grinned,
"Hate you."

With newly refreshed energy she shot over the rocky ledge, and thundered down over the moorland. Tears streaked down her cheeks but she couldn't stop, for she was afraid she'd only return to his side and refuse to leave. This was for her clan, this was for him. If they were together they'd only make their clan suffer. He would never be happy raising half-blood kits. He wouldn't have a clan, only her. Mothstorm couldn't do that to him. So as she pelted towards her home she wondered why it hurt so damn much.

Hawkeyes couldn’t stop smiling even how hard he tried it just wouldn’t leave his face. The purr in his throat wouldn’t go silent it kept steadily rhythm as her fur rubbed against his. He started to wish that he had never woken the she-cat he wanted morning to never come, but he knew this was the best for the clan.

Hawkeyes dipped his head in to answer Mothstorm’s question, actually to both of her questions. He could never forget, and he couldn’t wait until the next gathering were they once again could be together, but as her tail intertwined with his he knew that they had to go their separate ways. Standing up he slowly followed the she-cat until the mouth of the cave, were she said the most hurtful words in his point of life Hate you.

He sadly watched Mothstorm take off across the moorland toward the pine trees that stood on the opposite side. His eyes couldn’t leave her streaking pelt, and he fought the urge to follow her and stop her, but he knew he couldn’t.

When Mothstorm was far from his eye sight, he turned his attention back to home. He knew that his clan wouldn’t miss him that much, but Spottedwind might. With a deep sigh he started for home keeping a steady trot all the way to the woods.
