Nightsky breathed in the night air deeply before padding toward the den where the medicine cat lived. He needed to know how the leader was doing, if she was getting better or worst. Every since a moon ago the clan leader seemed to started acting strange like she wasn’t all the way here. Crystalmoon ordered her to stay in the medicine cat den until she had gotten better, and so far she hadn’t made any recovery. Nightsky had hoped that today was different today she would be better and take her whole as leader once again.

Nightsky quickly snapped back into reality,
”Crystalmoon, may I come in?” The black tom murmured glancing over his shoulder at the dead clearing. Everyone seemed to be still asleep in their nests, I should get a patrol going pretty soon. Nightsky thought before turning his attention back to the answering she-cat.

I wish everything was normal again

Crystalmoon sighed. Her gaze wondered over the still body of Thievingstar distantly, deep in thought. This was the fourth leader that was short lived in ShadowClan. Every time they were assigned a new leader and thought this cat would lead for a long time, they prove otherwise.

Will they ever have peace? Will there be a cat to hold the leadership for a long time without having to replace yet another cat? Nightsky! That's right, he'll have to take leadership now. I have good hopes for him. But...who knows what StarClan has in store for him... The restless she-cat wished StarClan would share some information to her. It seemed like moons since she received a sign from the skies above.

As if the thought of the cat alone was enough to summon him, she heard the deputy's call outside of her den. "Ah, yes, Nightsky, come in." Though, she wasn't sure how he would react to the unfortunate news she had to give. He was rather new at being second in charge. Would he be willing to uphold the task of leadership?</sup>
