A Busy Schedule [Sabertooth]

Silentpaw followed his mentor outside of camp, almost happier than his usual sour mood. Now that he was getting to know his superior more now, he didn't tolerate his underestimating perspective of him, but he liked his serious nature. He acted like most warriors should. Silentpaw would actually love him as his role-model. But, that would be too kit-like of him. He was an old, mature cat. He didn't need any role-models in his life.

But, he can be a close acquaintance that I can go to whenever it is appropriate... Silentpaw thought, sighing. Sometimes he wished he was care-free and young again. But just that thought alone made him seem even more immature. Following close behind Sabertooth he asked, "What subject are you practicing with me when you say 'training'?"

Silentpaw's first thought was battle training. Nothing mattered to him but getting stronger. And learning how to truly fight was his first priority. But if he explained that to this serious tom, he surely wouldn't take him seriously. It would just be a childish request. "Also, what border are we patrolling after we hunt?"</sup>

Sabertooth

The large tom surveyed his apprentice. "We are patrolling the shadowclan border. Those cats are not to be trusted. Not with that queer in their midst." He spat. "Toms mating with toms, it's not natural." His tufted ears flattened against his head as he stalked on. "Come on kid, keep up." he told the little tom. Picking up his pace to a run he let the way toward the shadowclan border, and stopped clean in his tracks. There were large yellow monsters, everywhere... eating the trees.

Now not much scared Sabertooth, however the massive tom was scared, his fur puffed up and he snarled. "Great starclan, stay back..." He mewed, his green eyes wide. "The... the clan must know of this. It is... bad." He mewed loudly, his voice raising in pitch. "Stay back Silentpaw."

Silentpaw cocked his head. Toms mating with toms? What was he talking about? When he imagined it, it didn't look pretty. It gave him a sick feeling in his stomach. Why would any cat want their own gender as a mate? It was just stupid. "Idiots. They're just a nuisance to their Clan if they won't produce any kits. Nothing is normal with that."

Suddenly Sabertooth changed the subject. Did Kestrelpaw not inform him about the oncoming destruction...? Silentpaw thought with frustration. That she-cat... Silentpaw reached his tail on his mentor's shoulder in attempt to calm him down. "The Clan already knows. Kestrelpaw was supposed to warn everyone but I guess some didn't catch the news."

Turning his gaze on the foreign objects in the distance he informed, "We're supposed to be careful and report back if any changes occur. But the way Kestrelpaw explained it I think nothing changed drastically. But just to be on the safe side you can report something if you wish." Silentpaw felt more like a comrade than an apprentice. The tom wasn't sure if he would get frustrated with him or not. But he had to tell him the facts anyway if no one else did. Hopefully he would ignore the discover and continue training. Silentpaw needed it.</sup>

Sabertooth

The large tom nodded. "We need to avoid them, as you know, they'll grab you and take you to the cutter." He mewed, ears flicking back. "And then, you won't be a tom anymore. All you'll care about is laying in the sun and eating their disgusting food." He told his apprentice, just making sure he knew. Giving a little sigh he wrinkled his nose. "The whole border is gone." He mewed. "Stay low, we have to get closer to do a border patrol." He explained.
However they had to make a dash through some already cleared land to get to the border.

Upon seeing the massive cat the two-legs began to make noises. One of them pulled out an odd stick and pointed it at Sabertooth. Suddenly there was a loud sound, like thunder and a searing pain in Sabertooth's hind leg.

"RUN!" he yowled, pretty much grabbing his appentice like a kit, and turning tail to run.

Silentpaw was still processing in his mind of what was going on. It happened so fast when he thought back to the scene it was just a blur of sounds and scents. Before he knew it something pulled his scruff, and he found himself being dangled above the forest floor. I can run, you know!

But it was no use struggling, for the tom was strong. Plus if he did try to escape his grip, Sabertooth would probably end up loosing balance, and not only would they get caught by the twolegs, but he would be in more pain than ever. So, logically, he waited until the worst was at its end.

When at a far enough distance from the danger he managed to sink his back claws into the ground, forcing his mentor to halt. Slipping out of his hold he whipped around, facing the warrior with fear and frustration in his eyes. "What happened? Are you ok? Sabertooth, what in the name of StarClan is going on?!"</sup>

Sabertooth


The massive tom stopped and stumbled, hitting the ground. He looked at his apprentice. "My leg." He mewed... "Pain." His eyes squeezed shut as he lay there trembling. "L-let me lean on you. I need to get back to camp." Blood was slowly oozing from the wound on his shoulder, it was a strange wound a round hole that seeped blood.

He had never felt such pain in his body. Nothing like it, no battle, no claw swipe. Nothing could compare to this pain. "When that two-leg pointed the stick at me. It made pain in my leg." He pushed himself up and tried to walk forward. However he quickly fell down again, ploughing into the ground with a thud and a grunt.

"Silentpaw, get help."

Silentpaw watched as the warrior fell, obviously defeated from the mere wound. It was totally new to him. Never in his life did he know something so small and barely visible could affect a full grown warrior so much. How powerful was the pain to make him act this way? All this drama was making him dizzy. It was almost too much to handle. But that couldn't get in the way. He had to be strong.

But what was he to do? He couldn't just leave Sabertooth out here like this! The tom was helpless, despite his strength and skill. What if he died? The camp was a distance away. It wasn't just around the corner. It would take him a while just to go from here to camp then back. And it would take even more time to drive someone out here. There had to be a better solution!

All Silentpaw could do for the time being was to scent for other cats around. There had to be a patrol somewhere. Carefully, he explored with his senses beyond the tangy smell of blood, and to his relief a warrior was near by. Just one, but it was better than nothing. Or...maybe it wasn't better than nothing. It was a ShadowClan cat. Gah! Curse my senses!

"Camp is too far away, Sabertooth. We have to get you to the others. You'll be dead by the time I come back!" Silentpaw hissed in protest, bending over Sabertooth's massive side. They needed to quicken, or he'll loose too much blood. Wait...loose blood! Of course! Silentpaw snapped his attention to his surroundings, his gaze trailing in search for a particular resource. Or anything that can cover up his wound. Silentpaw's bright green eyes widened when he came across the item, and pelted full speed toward it.

Tracing his steps back to the wounded warrior he laced cobweb over the hole in his flesh, pressing gently down in hopes of the bleeding to at least slow down. Thank StarClan for being in the medicine cat den when his sister was hurt. "That should help, hopefully. Now we've got to get going."</sup>

Sabertooth

The large tom hissed in pain as the cobweb was placed on the wound.

"Careful." he spat.
He began to limp towards the camp, blood still seeping from the hole in his shoulder. Each movement was agony for him and he mewed sadly as he moved along. "We're getting closer..." he gasped, falling down again, then pushing himself up.
"I don't know what that..." he stopped and heard the sound of two-legs coming though the bushes.

"Silentpaw... run." He said. "Run and don't look back." The tom pushed himself to his feet and turned around, facing the oncoming two-legs.
"Get out of here!" He mewed loudly. "Now!" He swatted his apprentice, hissing at him to flee.
"Come back here tonight... I'll be fine. I promise." he grimaced and turned around again, lashing his tail. If he was going to go down, he would make sure his apprentice survived, and that he went down with a fight.

Silentpaw whipped his head around at the faint sound of twolegs in retreat of their trail. What was the point of following them? Were they really that blood-thirsty? If he could just get Sabertooth safe at camp, they couldn't follow them anymore. If he left the warrior out here he would surely be killed. He wouldn't risk it. A valuable warrior can't be wasted. But a mere apprentice could.

"I'm not leaving you, Sabertooth! Even if I have to-" grabbing a mouthful of scruff he pulled him away from his battle stance. "-drag you!" Thunderous sound waves irrupted the silence, barely missing the wound he could've got. Pulling as hard as he could, he tried to drag Sabertooth away from the danger. When he started to panic at how slow he was going, he suddenly felt the weight lighten, which made his pace fasten into a run.

Glancing at the newcomer, relief flooded him when he saw a familiar figure. Wait...Riverstar!?

"Faster! We're almost there!" the she-cat encouraged.
But when they neared the camp entrance, the weight was as heavier than before, and he was once again having to slowly drag the large tomcat. Luckily, he could wrench himself into the camp entrance, collapsing when they reached the safety of the camp clearing. "Sabertooth, are you alright...?" Silentpaw panted, then quickly got up in sudden realization he could get help. "Someone, help! He's wounded!" Speaking of which...
