So what's everyone been up to?

Seeing as how we all haven't seen each other in what feels like forever, I have decided to make a 'Let's Catch Up!' thread. If anything of interest has happened to you since we've all gotten together, post here. Shiny shall go first!

First and foremost, I now have a job. It's only four hours whenever I'm scheduled, but I also work with my mother who works eight hours, so I need to wait at least 4 hours a day for her. I always have her tablet with me, or at least it's in the locker we share so I can reply to slash read threads if I need too, so it shouldn't take so long as it did before for me to get replies out.

On an almost unrelated note, my sister is pregnant with her fifth child, another girl. Due at the end of July or the beginning of August. Depends on who you listen to, the doctor or my sister's instincts. I'm personally rooting for August.

And this happened a while ago, so the details might be a little different. Once upon a time, my mother had a sister. And this sister ran away from home. And now, some couple of decades later, she has returned! That's right ladies and gentlemen, Shiny has a long lost aunt that is now somewhat in her life!

Anything else... No school, no boyfriend... Yeah, that's pretty much it. Someone else's turn now!

I've finished my first year in college. I went to a state university that was 2 hours from home and it wasn't very memorable or what I hoped college to be. I was shafted when it came to dorm rooms and was placed in a very expensive apartment. I also had to live with the RA and that was a bitch. Literally couldn't do shit. and was forced to go to every event she planned. ie. they were all horrible and forced beyond reason.

And due to the amount of time spent driving back and forth between school and home and all of my money being sucked into my living arrangements I'm basically broke! So this next year I'm transferring to a local university and living at home again /shrugs

I don't really care. I have more friends back home then I did in college. Although three of my friends are still attending my first college, so I'll have to make visits

um personally I recently got a job in retail as a cashier. yaaaaaay. hopefully it'll be better than working at walmart. that sucked. walmart people are always angry and rude. plus the store I work at now is rarely busy. which is a big difference because walmart was ALWAYS BUSY. my god.

uhhh a lot of my good friends are graduating this year so there's that? yay grad parties? yay lots of food? yay?

Big thing with me was that i finished my second year of college, my first year as an RA (Sorry your experience was so aweful Wish) and my sister graduated in may! YAYS! Also i just got back from Daytona Beach, FL for vacation. It was so awesome! I may have to post pictures later.

I still have no job, but am still looking, even if i have to babysit or houses all the time. I've been working on several character plots/ideas and hopefully i can get them going before my brain explodes! lol

I'm really glad this RP site is still going. It'll be a nice stress reliever during this summer and my next year at school.

Hello everyone

I just finished my last year of high school and since have mostly just been working and doing things around the house for my mom. Besides that I really haven't really done all that much. Mostly playing games and reading a comic I found. (Read up to date on it in two days when its over 800 pages long...now I'm waiting for more updates)

The only really interesting thing that I've done started about a week ago. I was just going to go feed my dogs like I do every morning but I was surprised to another dog as well. This vary nice old dog that walked right up to me when I walked into the shed. (that's were my dogs sleep they are out side dogs) Sadly right away I could tell he was a dumped dog he had a chocker on but no tags and...well he was blind with the worst most messed up eyes I have ever seen. I'm not going to really go into detail just know they are really bad. Anyway I ended up bring him to the vet to see what I could do for him. They ended up giving him a flea bath and a check up were I learned that his eyes needed to be removed besides that he is a pretty healthy dog if a bit old.

Anyway now I'm looking after him until the humane society can find some one to keep him and they even are going to pay for the help he needs. In the end I'm happy I could help this sweet dog but I just wish I could do more for him. Sorry that I just kind of dropped that but there it is. Anyway happy to see everyone again hopefully you have some happier things to talk about then me see you all around.

On a happier note, I am 12 weeks pregnant and the baby has a very strong heartbeat, no gender yet, my computer is still down so expect WIP posts that take a couple of days for me to finish. Phone typing sucks. My job keeps screwing me, so I'm back on that market, and my phone hates wide posts. I think that about does my updates....i think.

Myself?

Im headed to college in the fall. Its a community college, but it has a really high quality of education, and one of the best jazz programs ever, so I’ll have to fight tooth and claw to get into that band. It feel really weird being only 18 and going to college.
I just got a job teaching beginning trumpet and trombone at a music store, and 500$ a month is gonna help a bunch with getting that tuition

and omg that's exciting Terms! Two of my best friends recently had babies and I have never been a 'kid' person. It's not that I hate them or don't want to have them - it's just I'm basically a shithead and get really uncomfortable around them, especially babies. BUT I'm getting better at it and I'm actually a god parent to my friend's son. Which is kind of cool even though I'm the most non-religious person I know. but it's whatevs.

do you have any cool names picked out?

Alister for the boy, Demetra if a girl. Also god-parents mean that if anything happens to the parents, you would become the primary guardian. Its a huge honor, congrats.

and does it? I remember thinking that as a kid but my Dad told me otherwise. idk. but man hopefully that doesn't happen, for obvious reasons, and also because I'd be the worst parent imaginable.

Haha, no worries, wishy. Its rare that something goes that badly wrong.

I got over my social awkwardness and decided to post here as well, it will be awkward and terrible, but here I go!

As I said before lots of injuries for me this last couple of months, my mother said its the injuries I never got when I was child, so that would be 18 years worth of hurt. haha. First I got the back muscle tear thing, took lots of pain killers but I'm finally somehow weirdly healed! Still hurts occasionally but nothing I can't handle. Then when I could move again I went back to my beautiful horses, and things were cool, I was actually thinking of lurking about this place again but then shit happened, again. You see, I'm quite dummy and I was climbing this fence (don't ask why) and I sort of kind of jumped without thinking. Not a good idea, never go climbing fences kids or jumping like a big dummy from said fences 'cause I broke my leg. It hurts. Yeah, just got my case thing removed last week and I'm going to rehabilitation 'cause I want to go back to my horses ASAP.

On a more happier note my mare, Tea, has a foal. We called her Snow White 'cause we are really original here in my family /shot. She's a healthy foal, really playful and cheerful. A very nice and cute foal. I love her.

On a much more happier note... Congratulations, Terms! I'm so happy for you! Must be exciting, babies and all, just like Wish I'm not a kids person but I'm still glad to hear that! I hope you have a very healthy and cheerful pregnancy, free of trouble and all that stuff. Yes, cheerful, because you can eat cake and no one will judge you. That's a golden opportunity you have there. Anyways, I'm wishing for the best for you!

It's great to see this place up and running again, I'm glad to hear read everyone has been fine and up to fun things, jobs and college and all those things. Specially you Llama, I'm sure that dog will be forever grateful for what you did!

Also thanks to everyone I didn't thank yet for the congrats. I get an ultrasound on Thursday to see how big the baby is. If its big enough we might get a gender. I will be sure to update everyone.

Congrats Terms! Demetra and Alister are beautiful names. I have a coworker named Alistar, always thought it was the coolest name. Please do keep us posted! And congrats as well to Jest for the foal. Hope you have time to post pictures at some point. ^.^

As for me, still working at the same software company I have been for the past two years. I actually got a promotion back in January -- no longer an Associate (entry-level/junior) UI Developer, but fully fledged UI Developer with a few years of experience under my belt. The salary bonus and the title change were pretty awesome. -does a little dance- I just turned 23 in March, so I feel like I'm getting somewhere with my life, but I'm also starting to feel really old. xD Still dating Shawn; we're coming up on our two year anniversary in a few weeks. We went to DISNEY WORLD back in May -- Shawn's third visit, and my first. Really is the happiest place on earth; I had an absolute blast! We had been saving up for that trip for almost a year and it was so worth it... brought home so much Disney merch, particularly Stitch stuff. I was elated to meet his character in the park, totally freaked out when I saw him. <3

But anyway, that's my update. Glad to see everyone again! Hope to be getting back into posting here soon. Been a little busy lately with work. Also hosting/DMing Dungeons & Dragons for this summer's interns, so much of my free time is shot. We'll see what happens.
