Ashpaw

Age: 7 moons
Gender: tom
Rank: Apprentice
Clan: Shadowclan
Short Description: Abnormally large dark tom with green eyes.
Appearance:
When you first set eyes on Ashpaw, you would probably say he was either a soon to be warrior or a warrior already. He towers over cats his age now and can easy get in tussles with cats twice his age. He isn’t fat, as you can tell when he walks, but is large boned and highly muscular. He has a high pain tolerance, and other apprentices have stated that he has skin of rock. Him being so large also tends to scare other cats and makes them hesitant to attack when they first come across him.
While he is large, he is on the attractive end of the spectrum. His fur seems to be covered with a layer of dark ash (hence his name) and helps him blend into the shadows of his home territory. His front legs are lighter brown which trails up his neck and to his ears. The top of his head is the same dark color as his back while his muzzle holds the golden brown. The dark colors on his face help bring out the green in his eyes and, if he is in the mood to get a she-cat’s attention, will often do his best to keep eye contact with her, knowing that is his most attractive feature. His eyes are the portal to his mind, and this is the only way you will ever see how he really feels.
Personality:
Many would think with Ashpaw’s mere size that he would easily bully his way around other cats, but upon meeting him you will find that is not the case. Ashpaw is really quiet, and only talks to a select few that he sees as important enough. Other than that he will just stare you down until you either leave him alone, or you finally get the expression he is getting across. Many have attempted to get him but usually he’ll just stalk off in annoyance.
With an attitude like this, many apprentices steer clear thinking he is a cold-hearted cat who doesn’t want to get close to anyone. That is not the case. IF you really get to know him you will find he is actually a fun loving cat who likes to have fun with other cats his age. He is calm and thinks things through before stepping into action, but also doesn’t mind trying new things. The closer you get to him, the more he will open up, but don’t expect immediate results.
Another thing about Ashpaw is that he is determined. He doesn’t have a goal to become leader, as many believe, but a warrior that will make Shadowclan proud. He will train and train, even if he’s injured, muscles are trembling or he’s fighting sleep. He is a constant worry for the medicine cat and leader, who fear he will push himself past his limit and hurt himself permanently before he grows to a full warrior. However, many warriors have to admit that he is a confident fighter when it comes to intruders or battle techniques.
History:
Unlike Ashpaw, his mother, Littlesong, was a very small cat for her age and many tended to push her aside or think that she wasn’t capable of becoming a decent warrior. With that though embedded deep into her mind, Littlesong would often wander off alone and not come back until late. This made her father, Darktalon, worry about her. However, many were surprised when Littlesong announced that she was pregnant, but refused to announce who the father was. Many could see this was not a proud thing for her. After several moons she finally gave birth to a kit almost twice her size. The effort was so much on the small cat that she died before she could name the kit. Darktalon took in the kit and found a suitable queen to nurse the kit since his own mate has passed moons ago.
As Ashkit grew many could see the affection he received from Darktalon. Ashpaw had no idea this tom was his grandfather and not his real dad, but he didn’t care either way. Darktalon told him stories of his mom and the greatest warrior of Shadowclan and grew Ashkit’s ambition higher and higher. However, he always gave him advice that Ashkit took to heart almost too well.
A great warrior is not made by his words, but by his actions.
When Ashkit was four moons old, Darktalon, who was an elder now passed away from age and left the poor tom alone for the first time in his life. This is when no words ever left the tom’s lips again. He spent two nights grieving for the loss of his grandfather and then never talked again for several moons. Once two moons passed he was finally able to become an apprentice and his training was overseen by Emberheart, the deputy of Shadowclan. It took a while, but now that he is in his second season of training he has started opening up to her and talking more. He keeps his hopes high and his head up as he moves on in his life and path toward a warrior.
