An odd meeting [Dreamer]

Swiftpaw walked the edge of his territory, side by side by his mentor. He just been on a hunting patrol, they did well. A few rabbit and mouse or two, they were on the way back to camp. They walked pasted the Outlook Rock, he had never been there before. So his mentor showed him how to climb it and he stumbled up behind. He started to tell the young black and white apprentice about how this was a great place to see the twoleg place as well as all there territory.

While Swiftpaw was gazing over the planes that he called home, he saw something move out the corner of his eye. His eyes darted to it, it seemed there was someone or something on the fence. He wondered if it could be a kitty pet, he wanted to meet on so bad. He looked up at his mentor "I just saw a good place to catch rabbits, I'll be back before sun down" his mentor gave him a nod.

He jumped down from Outlook Rock and made his way towards the two leg fence. He looked up and notice a pretty silver she-cat, his ears twitched. She seemed harmless? He started to wonder if she could smell him or not. He moved out the bush he was hid in and smiled "Hey there!"

Teagan slowly got up and stretched as she heard her owners pour her food into her bowl. The little brown pellets weren't all that great, but it was something to eat. and it wasn't like she could hunt a mouse or squirrel in the yard. The petite silver she-cat purred and rubbed against the woman's leg and quietly ate as the warm hand scratched her ears just the way she liked.

Teagan didn't mind the kitty-pet life, but something else seemed to call her. Once she finished eating she listened quietly as the two-legs settled down to watch their afternoon TV. Good, she could slip out and they wouldn't notice she was gone until supper time. Scratching at her thin purple collar she slipped the cat door and took in a deep breath of the outside air. This is where he really belonged.

Slowly walking around her yard she was glad to see everything was in order. Most of the birds were gone and there were a few squirrels gathering nuts and things for the coming leaf-bare. Once she made sure her yard was clear she hopped up on her favorite perch of the fence and looked out at the wilderness beyond her home. She could see rolling hills and then the forest beyond that. She smiled some remembering the stories her parents used to tell her.

Suddenly a voice below her startled her back to reality. She look down quickly and stopped seeing another cat. How long had he been there? She sniffed at him and tilted her head. She didn't recognize the smell but he seemed friendly enough. She hopped down and nodded in greeting.
"Hello to you," she mewed cheerfully, "Are you new around here? I don't recognize you."
