Age: 9 moons
Gender: tom
Rank: apprentice
Clan: WindClan
Short Description: dark red-brown tom with blue-gray eyes
Appearance:
Flintpaw isn't what you call buff. He is rather tall, but never seems to out beat the tallest apprentice in the group. And unfortunately he will never be the most muscly in the group, either. He isn't considered a slim cat, due to packing some muscle, but he is no where near big enough to scare any cat into submission. This doesn't mean he isn't strong, though. Actually, he is one tough cookie. He can easily pin his fellow den-mates down, and pack a punch even with sheathed claws. He also has much endurance, and even if tired, determination pushes him through, making him seem like he has endless energy and power. Though this makes him able to run a very long time, it doesn't mean he is very fast. Actually, he doesn't do very well in races, and only wins if it goes for a long time.
Going on to his pelt, he is actually rather handsome, and deserves the prefix "Red" more than the any ginger cat. Flintpaw's fur is a dark brownish-red tint, ticked with black. This is obvious to twolegs that he has strong Abyssinian blood going through his veins, but to the regular every day Clan cat we will just stick with that description. Across the top of his head it becomes more dark with the sudden appearance of tabby markings, which is non-existent throughout the rest of his body. The tips of his ears are black, along with a thin outline around his nose, which blends into a dark pink. His whiskers are white, which match the subtle transition from reddish brown to white starting at the bottom tip of his nose to stray marks on his chest. His eyes are a blue-gray, as if they never grew out of their kit years.
Personality:
Flintpaw is an overall friendly character. But it all depends on what is going on, so there are many aspects to his personality. For him, you can't just sum it all up and say, "Oh, he is a happy kitty and outgoing and blah blah blah!". No, it goes a bit deeper than that.
Let's say you observe him, and decide whether to meet him or not. Usually, he is alone, and prefers this. He loves every solitude moment he can get his paws on, and though he isn't anti-social and can easily make a decent conversation, he doesn't particularly like socializing, which makes him very independent. This also gives him a chance to do one of his favorite hobbies; daydreaming. You can often find him staring off distantly, as if in deep thought. You will never know, though, if he is actually daydreaming or thinking. He doesn't just daydream. His mind is always busy, and he is an obsessive planner. He is always thinking ahead, and he panics if something doesn't go as well as planned. You can say he is a bit of a control freak, too. He has a very, very hard time going under orders or being told what to do in any way, almost to the point where it is a fear. This can make him unfortunately very bossy and dominant. This also brings light to his short-temperament. He can get pissed very easily, but most of the time he can hold it in very well, and expresses it through a mental rant full of swears.
Curious, you decide to talk to him and see what he is like. So you walk up to him, and stir up a conversation. Whether Flintpaw wants to talk or not, he always welcomes a new face. He is very friendly and outgoing, and can be a little too exciting and loud if you make him comfortable with you. Unfortunately, this is generally something that only happens with males. Sure, he is welcoming with any new face, but only males capture his energetic and talkative personality. This is only due to the fact that he knows how to get along and interact with males. Especially since he loves being rough and loves fighting. While with females, he has a hard time interacting with them, and only a select few that share common interests and a more tom-boy like personality can really be a true friend to him.
The only way he knows how to communicate with a female is through flirts and pick-up lines, which he does well. He knows exactly how to make a girl feel special, and how to treat a girl right. Some say he is just a player, but really, he doesn't go into his technique just to get some. Though most of the time his intent is just to get a good impression, he is someone who wouldn't mind having a girl by his side. He isn't the type to cheat, or go from woman to woman. Once he finds a girl he likes, he is very loyal and loving.
This unravels a new personality. When with someone he cares deeply about or is the most comfortable around, he is more calm, and can be very protective. He can be playful and friendly, but he always ends up with a loving smile on his face. Though he can be devious and dominant when he's turned on, though obviously never going too far.
Going back to his general personality, he can be a very cocky fellow, and can get very overly confident, even though he does have some insecurities, and is very sensitive toward cold words. Though childish at times, he is actually very intelligent, and is surprisingly very good at understanding the cat's mind and giving good advice or comfort. This mental maturity gives him a full view on life, but is also his greatest curse. One of the top reasons he gets pissed is due to cats not seeing how he sees things. He gets frustrated easily when someone doesn't understand something, or doesn't do something in the way that he would do it, because when he does something he takes a logical view of the situation, puts himself in their paws, and acts upon that. While it seems as if everyone else follows their emotions instead of their mind, leading them into foolish mistakes. Though he knows how to think with his heart, Flintpaw thinks a bit too logically with everything he does. Flintpaw is also extremely stubborn, and hates being wrong. This makes him very determined, and he will do every in his power to prove himself. He also isn't the type to easily feel bad for others, and instead pushes them to be more positive. Though it seems cruel, he just wants to help, and challenging someone distracts them from depressing thoughts.
History:
A single child, he never knew the bonds of having a sibling. Nor did he care. All he cared about was having a father. But he never really had one growing up.
He was born in a battlefield, his mother already bloody and weak from battle. Giving birth to him used up her last breath, and his father was there standing over the pathetic scene, witnessing the birth of his mate's death. Though never knowing his mother, he knew his father all too well. In the beginning, he was always there by his side, almost taking over the role of his adopted mother, Dawnwing. Flintkit was spoiled, getting everything he wanted, despite Dawnwing's desperate attempts for him to be punished when done something wrong, and even at the slightest pain from a fall or a play-fight his father would come rushing in to lick his wounds. Though an over-protective father, he would also scare the brave kit, for example whenever Flintkit came in contact with a bug, his father would scare him out of it, telling him lies that made Flintkit very insecure about many things, and Flintkit was even afraid to walk for a whole moon. Speaking of lies, his father was very good at telling them. He was very manipulative, and always made promises that were never kept.
At five moons old, Dawnwing finally took control, and banished his father from ever seeing Flintkit again. She had a talk with the leader, and how immature and spoiled Flintkit was due to his father, and how scared he was of everything, and they agreed that separating the son and dad was a good thing in order to be mentally strong and mature enough to reach apprenticeship in the next moon. In that time span, Dawnwing's strong will and tough nature made Flintkit a much better cat than he was before, though he still carries insecurities to this day. Dawnwing also made him slowly hate his father, telling him what she witnessed and her side of the story, or "reality" was what she called it, saying that his father always held a grudge against his son and never did treat his real mother right due to his laziness and lies, saying he, "never knew what he had until he lost it."
This made Flintpaw determined to always keep his promises and to always be true, hence his extreme sensitivity toward cats who break promises to him, even the smallest. When an apprentice, he fortunately didn't have to withstand the awkwardness of being in the same clearing as his father for long, for he died in battle due to being too severe with an enemy cat. Though all the strings attached to his father are gone now, he still can't help get the feeling that his father is watching his every move, waiting for him to share the same fate as his mother, like he deserved.
When he became an apprentice he met a she-cat named Blizzardpaw. She was the most beautiful thing to him. At first, he didn't really talk to her and she was left doing most of the talking and coming up to him and such, because ever since his father died he was very shy and quiet. The she-cat brought him out of his shell and they spent every second together. Soon enough they fell in love, but it ended up being a rather abusive relationship. She had borderline disorder, which made her unpredictable. One minute she was happy, and the next she was ready to claw his fur off for no particular reason. This caused many fights, and soon enough he got closer to another tom who he would share all his stress with: Nightpaw. Flintpaw became best friends with the dark tom, but it all went to hell when Nightpaw ended up taking his girl away, and Blizzardpaw cheating on him in the process.
For a long time he was depressed, but thanks to her and even the experience he has gotten stronger and more experienced, and even broke out of his shyness and became more confident. He is much more fearful and disfunctional in relationships due to that, but he also is a much better cat in general.
