Sage
The darkness in your mind

Sage slowly jumped up a few rocks and stopped at the top of a crevice slowly looking around, his yellow eyes catching everything. something close to a growl came out but he alone knew it was a sigh. He was tired of traveling alone. he slowly sat down wrapping his brown tail around his paws.
"The darn clans are getting on my nerves. i seem to get close to anything with them around." he growled as the memory of the she-cat came back. He dug his claws into teh rocks making an awful screeching noise. He slowly let his eyes scan the rocks and saw a lizard basking near by. He slowly padded forward then lashed out catching the reptile on his claws. He quickly ate it licking his jaws.
"Not the best in the world, but it'll do." he muttered, going off to find some shade. He hated the blasted son.
"curse you star-clan." he added stalking off.

The Hunter looked up at the mountains, his tail slowly flicking back and forth. He had found the kit of a loner while she was off hunting. Now the dead corpse hung from his jaws. He bent down and ate the kitten, enjoying the taste of cat flesh. He swiped his tongue over his jaws and looked up at the mountains again. He could go back there, back to the tribe. But not yet. No he needed to get stronger. Going back there would be his death. Then he saw another cat and carefully padded forward. Something about this cat... he liked this cat.

"I know a place where the sun does not reach." he said, standing in front of the tom. Blood was still on the black cat's fangs, and his yellow eyes surveyed the brown tom lazily.
"I am The Hunter... what do you call yourself by?"

sage turned and looked at the black tom. something about him seemed t frighten him just a little but he quickly pushed it back down.
The hunter? I wonder if this is the tom I've been hearing whispers about. he thought silently.
"I'm Sage." he replied firmly. "And a place where this blazing sun does not reach? That seems like a place into the very heart of the earth, but again....that seems like a place for me." he said with a slight cocky tone to his voice.
"Tell me, stranger, why should i trust you. by the look of your fangs you've been known to bring trouble." he said, making his eyes small slits.

He watched the tom then flicked his tail. "Follow me." he said and led him to a small cave. There was a nest in it. "That nest is mine. Get your own." he growled. "I will bring us some food. I take it that you eat... mice." he curled his lips.

The cave was littered with bones... cat bones.

Sage

sage followed the cat, knowing if he showed hesitancy he would defiantly hear about it. He stopped once he was in the cave and slowly looked around. He looked at the tom as he said mouse and curled his lip.
"Yes, i do. But i can hunt for on my own." he replied. His eyes quickly scanned the bones around. These were cat bones! Most likely kits by the looks of the sizes. As he looked around the cave, he could help but feel awe toward the tom. Maybe this was exactly what he needed!

The Hunter grinned and left without saying anything. It wasn't long before he came back with prey. He dropped a lizard and a snake at Sage's feet. Then he dragged in is own prey, a new born fox cub stolen from its mother's den. He pulled the fur off, adding it to his own fur lined nest, then began to eat.

"So tell me Sage... what do you know of this place." He mewed quietly as he devoured the young creature.

sage laid down and started eating the lizard first. "Well...." he started pausing to swallow. "These cats have a lot of rules and take pride in protecting each other." he said thoughtfully. He stopped for a moment and took a few more bites. "They also meet every full moon on this island. But from what I've heard some rouges attacked them just recently and lost....badly." he added finishing the lizard and starting on the snake.

He let his gaze look up at the tom. This cat had taken down a fox cub in no time at all probably. He looked strong, and was curious about the clans. Maybe he could be of help. But again....maybe he should watch his back as well.

The Hunter looked up from his meal and curled his lips. "So these are the lands of the Clan cats." he said. "Intreresting." he mewed, cleaning himself after his meal.
"So they lost to a bunch of rogues who were idiot enough to attack them whilst they gathered." He growled. "I do not attack large numbers of cats. To bring them down I pick of the weak ones... of course I don't kill she-cats... usually. They have.... other uses." He said with a twisted, leering look on his face. "I caught a pretty grey and white cat unawares..." he laughed.
"This will be a good hunting grounds for me. Are you with me... Sage." he paused. "We will have to do something about your name. Cats will not tremble at the name Sage, it is a plant. It sounds wise and caring... and old. No you need a strong name, a deadly name... like Snake, or Blood, if you are to work with me."
He bared his fangs. "We will start our own clan, in these rocky hills. We will find other cats like ourselves, and call ourselves Deathclan, for we will bring death to the all others who cross our paths."

Sage listened as the tom talked. Not killing she-cats.....taking out the weaker ones...this was everything he was looking for! He knew if he started with the weak the clans would tumble! This was perfect.
However he stopped when he heard the cat mention name change. He had never thought about his name. He remember he had been stuck with it as a kit and it just stayed. He extended his claws slightly thinking.
"Yes...the name change does sound good. I'll think of one shortly." he replied nodding slightly. "This clan idea sounds good. Yes. I'm sure there are others like us out there. Deathclan...perfect." he said, a small smirking tone coming to his voice.

The Hunter grinned. "I shall be the leader of Deathclan." he said. "And you shall be my deputy Snake... for you are cunning and wise like the serpent... preparing to strike, but not letting those around you know that you are going to strike..." he paused. "Tomorrow I will teach you to hunt as I do. There are loners about with kits, we will practice on them. Cause fear to spread. Rest well Snake, tomorrow your training begins.

I will never speak.}

Fate slunk through the bushes, her beautiful blue eyes following the movements of these cats--well at least her right eye was following their movements. A painful gasp escaped her throat as the memory of that horrid hawk fluttered against her memory. Biting her lip she urged herself to loose faith in those memories and focus on finding a permanent home.

These two toms interested her, yes. But they seemed too much like Rogue-Blood, they wanted to destroy the clans--same old story. She's heard it too many times, when would they understand they could never win? That the clans, although they could be enemies, would always work as one to defeat their enemy. They had faith, as well as hope. Something rogues lost long ago.

Flicking her tail she decided she confront them, just to see what would happen. If they would kill her so be it. But she didn't feel as if her death was near, no she felt a different calling. Eyes narrowed she stepped out of her hiding place, keeping her cold stature she padded towards their 'Deathclan'. Sitting a tail-length away from the cave, I won't be speaking tonight, but I can show. The riddles of words were locked up tight, today she was holding her promise.

Sage/Snake nodded slightly knowing it'd be best not to argue with the tom. He started to slowly blink to sleep, but a scent drifted across his nose. He quickly stood up his ear slowly laying back. He didn't recognize the scent that passed his nose so he stayed on aware. Who ever it was wasn't a clan cat.
"Show your face you trespasser!" he spat.

The Hunter stood and moved out of his den. There were many caves like this in this small area. It was perfect for Deathclan. He growled low and eyed the elderly she-cat, then smiled.
"Ah... do you need to rest your weary bones. You look tired." he said, playing the suave worried tom. "I have a warm nest, soft as can be. I can bring you prey. Why don't you rest your bones. Tell me, M'lady, what is your name?" He turned around and glared at Snake.
"Can't you see this elder needs our help. You know the legends of the faults of Bloodclan, not caring for their elders. We must not be like them. We have faith, and we have strength." Of course the faith they had was not in Starclan, but in the Dark Forest.

Snake

Snake sighed and slowly sat down. The she-cat was still a trespasser, elderly or not. He didn't get where the hunter was going with this. Bloodclan didn't fall because they didn't take care of their elders. They failed because the leader was too mouse brained to think about his actions.
None the less Snake stayed quiet. He looked the she-cat over and waited for a reply.

I will never speak.}

Fate scowled, I'm old but I'm not stupid I know a fake play when I see it. Slowly she rose to her paws, her claws broke through the earth, while her black fur glistened amongst the sunlight. Words. I need words. At once her riddles of words ran deep within her throat, they threatened to be spoken, and begged to be let free.

Slowly her throat opened, the feeling of irritation spiked through her within the instance her white teeth were shown. Her throat was soar and dry, she lacked the skills to utter any normal words, but for some reason she able to say such unbelievable prophetic mutterings.

"The bloods runs shallow,
your hearts twist, the sunlight,
is swallowed. Darkness rises,
within. Through trial, glory will--" she stopped, the she-cat was finally able to cut herself off. Snorting she swished her tail, she wasn't going to join, nor was she going to rest. She had other duties to do, but maybe one day she'll come back, she'll come just to watch their downfall.
