Blazingpaw found his eyes narrowing as her sharpened words scorned his colored pelt, his whiskers twitched impatiently as she finished her 'speech'. Apparently she also wouldn't give him a chance to respond, he had chosen a few good words for his mentor.
"Whatever." he muttered under his breath. Following his Mentor towards a smaller clearing, he found himself being envy of the older warrior. Although she had been injured and passed up as the next leader of Shadowclan she seemed as if she still held her head high. Snorting he knew if he had been in her condition he would have ripped Shortstar's fur off with his own claws.

As she once again opened her trap and began uttering words of high intelligence and other things Blazingpaw could barely even consider caring about, he found himself only picking out the important words. Such as you need 'brain as much as brawn.' Or something along those lines, how would he know? It wasn't like he was paying attention.

"Do you think I don't know that?" he hissed in annoyance, "I've been in battles before, I'm not a mouse-brained kit." he growled once more. Narrowing his amber gaze he found his own claws sinking into the cold, compacted snow.

Grunting once more he growled, "I highly doubt your 'training' will teach me anything." Pausing he rolled his eyes, "I think I learned much more on my own then from you."

For a long moment, Thievingstreak was still and silent, her eyes closed in what appeared to be deep contemplation. Not a muscle twitched under her snow-flecked pelt, and for all the world she seemed frozen to the very earth, as still as a twoleg statue of stone. Her expression was all but blank, save for a peaceful, faint smile detectable only by the most attentive warrior. As the seconds drifted by along with the dusty flakes of white, she seemed to become less and less animate, to the point of being almost lifeless. Even her breathing stopped as the last light puff of air escaped from between her flared nostrils and dissolved away into the wintry winds.

Then all at once, she came alive.

Exploding from her inert state, the half-blind deputy pivoted on her uninjured leg with remarkable speed, twisting around with her front paw raised and her talons extended to their full length, dagger-sharp and menacing and bitter as the arctic gusts that now whipped around herself and Blazingpaw. At the last possible instant, she withdrew her claws, and her paw smote the apprentice's muzzle with such a force that it jarred her own body in the aftershock.

Fur fluffed and back arched, the ebony she-cat landed roughly with her eyes ablaze and her whiskers bristling. It was unlike her to express her fury in such an open and physical manner, but the little tom's final words were an insult to her not only as a warrior, but as the deputy of her Clan.

"Now listen, you mouse-brained kit," she hissed, speaking slowly in an attempt to calm herself. "There is one lesson I evidently have yet to teach you -- respect. As an apprentice, it is your duty to be courteous to your elders, regardless of how many moons your senior they are, whether they are nine moons or ninety. If you ever speak to me like that again, I will be sure to prevent you from ever becoming a warrior. And when you die a hundred moonrises from today and pass on to StarClan, you will be mocked into shame for retaining the suffix "paw" as an aged and decrepit feline.

"You are bold, Blazingpaw, very bold. For your arrogance, you will be forbidden from attending the next Gathering. As deputy, I believe this is a fair enough punishment, but keep in mind that I may not sheath my claws the next time you take a swipe at my self-esteem or challenge my ability to train you.

"Enough of this babble now. Are you ready to begin our next lesson? Or would you prefer that I exercise my right to work my jawbone to exhaustion in an effort to teach you reverence? Somehow I have a feeling that such an endeavor could only be made in vain. Am I correct?"

ooc:Take it personally? xD Far from it, someone needed to smack Blazingpaw. He deserves every hit he gets xD

A small smirk presented itself upon Blazingpaw's, rather intricate muzzle. His chin was as white as the falling snow, while his muzzle seemed to vary from the blacks to gingers. And there was that smug, very smug smirk. Just sitting their as it watched his mentor go from a rather angry she-cat to one of stone. Snorting with contempt he finally had succeeded in shutting her up.

Two seconds flat Blazingpaw found himself face first into small, but big enough snow-drift. His cheek stung, oh how it stung. He wasn't quite sure on what happened but all he remember was a flash of black and soon enough his body was colliding with the ground. The cold snow lapped at his multi-colored fur, while his eyes flickered from side to side.

Slowly he rose to his paws, his back legs staggered behind him while his front paws were planted firmly in the ground. Spitting angrily he turned his dagger-like eyes towards the mouse-brain who did this. There she was again, blabbering on and on.

But for some reason, perhaps it was the stinging pain from the left side of his face, Blazingpaw found himself listening. A scowl replaced that oh-so-smug smirk of his when she blabbered on about him not becoming a warrior.
"Try it." he growled under his breath, "I want to see you hold me back." Although he desperately wanted the she-cat to hear his words, he had decided to mutter then softly. Hopefully softly enough.

"Fine."he snarled to the she-cat, for when she told of him not going to the next gathering, he wasn't surprised. Not surprised at all. When she was finally done with her speech, Blazingpaw couldn't help but admit he was impressed. But he'd never admit it.

"Prove it to me." he meowed coldly, his eyes were as frozen as the ice under his paws. "Show me how I can become a warrior." he meowed once more, this time his voice had sounded more like a plea. But it was one of those silent pleas, and to hear it. You'd have to dig deep.
