Speckled blinked slightly as the tom just barely moved her with the first attack. That hadn't done anything to her at all!
Is he really that weak?! i mean come on! I've been an apprentice maybe a few days and i know I'm stronger than him! she ranted in her head. Suddenly the tom landed on top of her and landed a few blows on her back before jumping off. Those thumps stung a little, but the dust in her eyes was more painful. She spun facing the black tom.
My turn. she thought taking in her surroundings quickly.
Suddenly she darted forward and under the tom's paws. The one thing she liked about being small is that she could get under cat's paws easily....well for now she could she knew she would grow. When she was under ravenpaw's paws she pushed up hard sending the tom flying slightly and spun pouncing on him, paws on either side of his head and hind paws on his stomach. She nipped his ear for good measure.
She smiled in her head as she remembered her mom pulling off that move on her mangy rouge father. Her mom had taught her something, though probably not meaning to. Speckledpaw was proud of herself. now to see if Lionstrike would be.[/center]

Lionstrike looked on as the two apprentices battled. When Speckledpaw claimed victory, Lionstrike called out "Th-that's en-n-nough." Standing up the tom padded over to the two cats.

"V-very g-g-good. Now, Sp-speckledpaw, let's h-help R-ravenpaw learn some moves." turning to the apprentice, he ordered "Do t-the l-l-leap and hhhhhold."

{{I'm just going to use some moves out of the feild guide. If ya don't have it just tell me and I can explain the move.}}

Ravenpaw's fur bristled when Lionstrike's order reached his ears, making him feel a little nervous. For a cat trying to follow the strong, bold warrior Raven he sure was heading the wrong path.

Thinking deeply about it, he was nothing like Raven. The tom was strong and possessed many fighting skills, while he was slim and weak, possessing no skills at all.

Raven was a brave, serious cat who wasn't afraid to speak his mind. While he was a soft-spoken cat, scared of numerous things and afraid to speak out at all. Ravenpaw has a long way to go before reaching the goals he sets his gaze upon.

Looking down he stuttered, "S-sorry. I never had my first battle training with Roundbelly yet. We only worked on hunting so far." Ravenpaw confessed. Shifting his gaze upward at Lionstrike he meowed, "Do you mind showing me what you speak of? I...don't know that move."</sup>

Speckledpaw had started cleaning her fur after the small scuffle as Lionstrike talked to Ravenpaw. She could tell he needed work. She was a small cat for her age and he couldn't knock her over. What kind of warrior would he be.
Her ears perked slightly hearing him ask Lionstrike to do a demonstration.
"you have to be kidding me!" she blurted out looking at the tom. "I knew that move as a kit! I practiced it on leaves and dust balls."
She couldn't believe this! This tom didn't know what the leap and hold was. Sheesh. Did this tom know anything. She knew Snowpaw and Wavepaw were pretty cool but come on, who didn't know what the leap and hold was?![/center]

Ravenpaw snapped his head toward Speckledpaw's direction as she made a rude comment. He felt ashamed. It was his fault from not knowing that in the first place. Since kithood he was always too afraid to do anything. Talk, play, explore, anything a kit would do.

So what she would know would be much superior than his knowledge. He could learn a lot from her. Apprentice to apprentice. It would be easier than a mentor since they are at the same level. But right now she didn't show signs of a she-cat he would actually like or train with.

He would be better off with one of his sisters. Gathering up his courage, he decided to practice with his new personality. What would Raven say...?

"I'm here to learn, not be lectured. If I want your opinion on things I'll ask. Even though it means little." he growled in the deepest voice he could possibly muster up.</sup>

Lionstrike's tail flicked in irritation as the two apprentices bickered. He was cold and his nose was runny from not cleaning off the water from teaching Khaki to swim.

"I-i-if you t-t-t-two are d-d-d-d-done, we c-c-can st-st-start. Sp-speckledp-paw, y-you can show R-r-ravenpaw the move. Use it ooon m-m-m-me."

Speckledpaw's eyes narrowed and her ears went back against her head at Ravenpaw's words. How dare that tom say that! She felt like lunging at him put Lionstrike's voice pulled her away. She looked at her mentor and nodded. padding little ways away from Ravenpaw.
I'll show this tom something to snap about. she growling in her head. She turned toward her mentor. She pushed off hard form the ground, flying through the air at her mentor and tackled him, pinning him down easily, front paws on his shoulder pinning down his front paws and back ones on his stomach.
You better had been watching, Ravenpaw. she thought bitterly.

{{I know that's probably the wrong move, but specklepaw tends to get a little cocky and really doesn't know what moves are. If that's the wrong move I'm sorry....lionstrike can get onto her moony. =D))[/center]

Lionstrike was prepared for the leap and hold, but was slightly confused when Speckledpaw came up and did the leap and twist. The frustrated tom quickly pushed Speckledpaw off and growled deeply "Th-that was th-the l-l-l-leap and t-t-t-t-twist, Speckledpaw. Remember, the llllllleap and h-h-hold is wh-where you j-j-j-jump onto an o-o-o-opponants back and hold there. Sp-specially handy when he is l-l-l-l-larger than you." He turned around and face his apprentice. "Try again."

Speckledpaw's ear slowly lied flat as her mentor growled at her. It wasn't that she was scared of the tom, she just didn't like being snapped at.
"I knew that." she muttered, "I was just trying to see if I could catch you off guard."
She didn't know why her moves had to be done a certain way, as long as the cat was attacked and fought off she didn't car how she did it.
She padded a little ways off and turned facing her mentor. She flexed her claws slightly into the ground but dashing forward and leaping onto her mentors back, hooking her claws into his fur so she could hold on.

Lionstrike wait paiantly for his apprentice to strike the move. Hopefully this time she would dow it correctly. When she jumped onto his back, he was only slightly surprised. She did the move, partly.

The warrior let her rejoice in doing what he had told her. He hoped she remembered the rest of the move. Apparently she didn't because he soon felt her tight grip on his back.

The ginger tom quickly, but carefully as to not hurt her...to much, flipped onto his back and then back onto his paws as he felt her claws slip out.

Speckledpaw hung on to her mentor, proud that she had landed on his back. Then suddenly her mentor rolled over crushing her making her let go. She struggled against him slightly and then he was up.
She pushed herself up and growled in frustration. How come her stupid mentor had to make her look bad in front of Ravenpaw.
"What now?" she snapped angrily, her eyes narrowing at her mentor. "I did what you told me."[/center]

"P-p-p-p-p-part of it, Sp-speckledpaw. Yyyyou sh-should have r-r-remembered n-n-n-not to hhhhold on and l-l-l-let go when you felt me m-m-m-move." Lionstrike reminded her. But left it at that and turned to Ravenpaw.

"Y-y-you try it n-n-n-now."

Ravenpaw couldn't help but feel a warm wave of amusement wash over his nervous body. "Seems like your not the only one who has a lot to learn." Ravenpaw remarked, a smile following.

Hoping to learn from Speckledpaw's mistake, he crouched down, slowly and carefuly stalking around until he found an advantage. After a second circle around the ginger tom, he quickly pounced onto his back, copying Speckledpaw's leap.

But due to not wanting to fall in the same trick, he gripped lightly onto his flesh, his claws unsheathed. But it was a bit hard to grip onto, and he found himself falling off the warrior's back.

Sliding off, he found himself clinging onto his back with two paws, while the rest of his body limply hung over the side of Lionstrike's figure. In a quick heave, he forced himself on him again, but still tried to regain balance.

Oh no...he had an advantage!</sup>

Lionstrike watched in approval as Ravenpaw did the move. He was doing well, for a beginner. But then the warrior gave an inward sigh, the apprentice had gripped on to lightly. Now the black tom was struggling to gain his balance and keep a grip, the perfect oppertunity for Lionstrike to gain the upper hand.

The tom gave a sharp twist while kicking his hind legs up, feeling Ravenpaw fly off of him and land not-so-gracefully a few tail lengths away.

"Th-th-the move is a l-l-l-l-l-l-little hhhhard-d-d-der then you th-think."

Speckledpaw let out a small snort of laughter as the black tom went flying. At least she had been able to stay on longer. This tom didn't know squat. Maybe he wasn't cut out to be a warrior.
"Hey it looks like your finally living up to your name Ravenpaw. I knew you'd learn how to fly sometime." she teased, licking her paw and bringing it over her ear. She didn't care what the tom thought. He tries to tell her that her opinion doesn't matter, he'll have something else coming. and this was just the beginning.
