A Hunting Patrol {Loud, Ginger, && Saber}

LOUDSTORM
A storm so loud.

Loudstorm came out of the ThunderClan camp. The sun was shining through the leaves casting the under growth in a light green light. It was almost if the battle had never happened. But if it wasn't for his shoulder he would have believed it.

The tom stepped away from teh entrance so Saberpaw and Gingerflight could come out. "Where should he head to hunt?" he asked.

Saberpaw flicked his tail. "The old Sky Oak?" He said, streching his muscles. "Mmmm it feels good to be out of the camp and dry." He said. "Where do you think Gingerflight?" he asked the she-cat. Saberpaw knew he was going to be a warrior soon. He and Toadpaw both were old enough. He smiled a little, wondering what his warrior name would be. He knew he was among the best warriors in the clan. His size helped with that. He also knew that nocat could jump, dodge, climb or run like Toadpaw." He flicked his tail again and let the sun warm his thick pelt.

Gingerflight slowly flicked her ears around. "The Sky Oak sounds good. with the rain I'm sure it has knocked some of the nuts and leaves down. Birds and squirrels will be all over it." she said nodding at the apprentice. She quickly brought a paw over her ear a few times and stretched. It was good to be out again. She just hoped Loudstorm could hold up with his shoulder.

Loudstorm nodded. "Sounds good to me too." the warrior started to head in that direction, a slight limp making his pace. Just need to stretch it. he told himself as it started to to feel it burn in pain.

Saberpaw

Saberpaw nodded and moved along quietly. Then he held his tail up, and indicated a plump pheasent. He dropped down and slowly crept forward. Then sprang on the bird, bringing it down.

"How was that?" he asked, grinning at Gingerflight. He padded up to her and licked her on the nose, surprising himself as he did so.

Gingerflight sort of stopped when he licked her nose but then smiled. "That was excellent Saberpaw." she said smiling. Up ahead she saw a sparrow.
"Watch this." she slowly crept forward and stopped in the underbrush and waited a moment. Then she darted out, making the sparrow take off. She dashed up the tree, with no claws then pushed off dragging the sparrow down with her. She quickly bit down on it neck and brought it over.
"You'll need to learn a lot before you can brag to me." she said almost teasingly, gently licking the top of his right ear.

Loudstorm smiled inwardly. The prey was active, mainly due to the sunny weather. Now if he could catch something with this shoulder of his. He had stood there watching the two other cats hunt, nodding in recognition to their catches. But he knew if he stayed there any longer resting his shoulder they would probably get suspicious.

The black tom tasted the air, mouse hit his scent glandes almost imedeatly. Walking towards in he bent down into a hunters crouch and slowly made his way to it. His shoulder burned but the tom ignored it. He wouldn't show them that he wanted to yowl in pain like a kit at the moment.

Finally he caught sight of the mouse, speeding up slightly he started for it. A couple fox length's from it he jumped. But the strain on his shoulder was too much and when he landed a few whisker lengths from the mouse his leg collasped underneath him. A little bit of blood trickled from the unhealed wound.

Saberpaw snorted. "A sparrow?! a phesant is much bigger than a sparrow. Looks like I still have my bragging rights." He meowed. Then he saw his mentor go down.

"Loudstorm!" he mewed and ran to the cat's side. "You can't hunt on that shoulder." He mewed urgently.

Loudstorm let out a hiss of pain and frustration. "I'm fine, I'm fine." he growled as he tried to stand. It took a moment for him to get a grip on the ground. But as he tried to push himself up, his leg started to shake with the effort and he fell back again. Stupid leg.

Saberpaw ran to Loudstorm's side and supported him. "You are not fine." He growled. "You are far from fine. We are going back to camp. Gingerflight, please help me with him.[/center]

LOUDSTORM

"I don't need any help, I'm fine." Loudstorm growled once more. But when Saberpaw helped him up, he didn't resist. Putting some of his weight on Saberpaw he wouldn't show that he was terribly weak by keeping a lot of his weight to himself.

Saberpaw turned and began to help him back to the camp.
"Gingerflight, can you please get the kills we made. You and I will come back out here when we get Loudstorm back to camp." he mewed. "Thank-you."
"Don't worry, we'll get you right to Swirlleaf, she'll patch you up." he said to his mentor.

gingerflight shook her head at the older warriors stubbornness. "I knew you shouldn't have come out here yet." she said picking up the two birds and walking over walking on Loudstorm's other side. She hoped he hadn't hurt it too bad. Loudstorm was a great warrior. He would hate to have to sit on the sidelines and watch.

Reluctantly the tom limped foreward. He would not show too much weakness, but the pain was hell. Why oh why is it that in every battle he gets hurt on the same leg? He turned his head to get a look at the wound. It was crusted with dried blood and some red drops were seeping out. It was swollen too. Great, it's going to get infected.

Gingerflight stayed beside Loudstorm. She noticed his shoulder and sighed to herself. The tom had been through so much. She felt kind of sorry for him.
"I'll go ahead and tell Swirlleaf we're coming." she said around the birds before taking off, letting her strong limb carry her through the forest.
