Now what will we find this time?

The tom beneath Cougarface was quick into his counter attack and now she was at the bottom. The tom had all it's weight on her and she couldn't do much but struggle.
Pain thrashed through her stomach as the tom ripped at her fur. She struggled but got caught at the top of her head. It was painful, but she had to get free.
The weight suddenly dissapeared and she shakily got up.
Seeing the look in Hawkeyes' eyes told her that he was going to finish her off. She surrendered. Her body shook as she bowed her head and gave in. They would.ve never beat these young cats...Three to two. This was enough.

"Come Mothpaw!... and if I see you again, you will pay for our loss..." Glaring evil-ishly at Hawkeyes she turned and stalked through the leaves that she had come...



His body was still sore as he rose from the muddy ground and turned to help Hawkeyes. What? The big she-cat surrendered and was calling at her apprentice... Mothpaw, now I know her name. He looked up as lightning struck the sky, splitting it in two. The battle was over.


Spottedwind paused as she heard Cougarface surrender. Her gaze went back to Mothpaw, she was still prepared in case of another attack. They had won this battle! A small sigh came from her small, aching body. A sigh of relief. Now they can go home, get something to eat and get nice and dry. Most of all, she can catch some sleep.

<sup>Mothpaw narrowed her gaze she had an attack all planned out but apparently her mentor had a better idea, but then something happened.

Lightning flashed before her eyes, thunder echoed amongst her ear-drums and before her laid the image of a warrior, she had a sheen tabby coat, and beautiful sun-colored eyes, and then it was gone. Her fur bristling Mothpaw stood still in a state of horrid shock. Wh-what's going on?

Shaking her head she shot off after he mentor, the image of the she-cat still quite apparent in the back of her mind. Why does she seem so familiar? Catching up with her mentor she followed, her paws thudding in the sticky mud. The storm continued onwards above and finally did she have the courage to ask,

"Courgarface? Why did we surrender?"</sup>

Cougarface suddenly realized her apprentice was still young. She stopped and swerved to face Mothpaw.
"Well, if you think about it, it was three against two, two warriors and an apprentice versus another warrior and you, the other apprentice...so either we run or we get very badly injured. Even worse, we could cause a dispute between the clans that is not needed. That is all." flicking her tail at her, she turned back toward the camp which, by now, was just a few fox-lengths away.

Mothpaw stared after her mentor with admiration, the she-cat was so strong-yet noble in every aspect. Blinking she quickly raced forward to catch up with her tan-colored mentor, her silver paws thudding across the forest floor, the pines shadowing the forest above. While the rain tickled the fur along her spine.

Yawning she tried to swallow away the raw taste of sleep. The silver-furred she-cat was so-very-tired from the battle, the patrol, the strange dreams, signs. Everything!

So with all of the strength she had left she raced along side her mentor. Wanting nothing more then to curl up amongst her nest and sleep for a moon.

The rain was subsiding as they reached the camp entrance. Cougarface raced in and veered off toward her leader's den to report the patrol. Before she left her aprentice, though, she said,
"Go get some rest and eat something, we will start training at sunrise tomorrow morning. Meet me by the camp entrance."
Then she waited for his leader to call her in to speak.
