As soon as Ravenkit saw Old Talonstrike she was off of Toadpaw. The black kit jumped over to the elder and listened intently to his story. Many questions came out of her mouth "Were they big? You really fought them all off? Did you get hurt?"

SMALLWHISKER

Smallwhisker snorted as she slowly made her way to the group. Shadows flickered in and out and she almost tripped over a kit. "Watch it, young'un." she hissed as she finally made it to where the warriors sat. Grunting she laid down and curled her front paws under her chest. Hearing Talonstrike she grunted again. "Another tall-tale I supose." not pleased at all a lecture about tell tall-tales was coming if some cat didn't get her mind off of it quick.</sup>

Old Talonstrike

"They were big enough to eat Saberpaw up for breakfast and have the rest of the clan for lunch." Talonstrike said. "And I fought them all off, with one paw behind my back!" This, of course, was based... loosely on a true story. An insane loner and wandered into the camp and scared the living daylights out of everyone by his insane ramblings before fainting infront of Talonstrike, who had been too scared to move.
But any cat who had seen that was now long dead, and even Talonstrike believed his version of the story.

Saberpaw

Saberpaw saw that Smallwhisker was gearing up to cause trouble and interrupt the story. As a kit Saberpaw had always loved the elder's stories. Well Old Talonstrike had only just been made an elder when Saberpaw was a kit. He picked up two plump mice from the fresh-kill pile and carried them to Smallwhisker.
"Why don't I help you with your ticks." he said, leaving the mice for her. He knew that she wouldn't complain with her mouth full of mouse.

Just as she was about to open her mouth, the scents of Saberpaw and mouse greeted her. "I can't refuse a willing apprentice to get rid of my ticks." she murmured as she started to inspect the mouse "Now be sure you get the freshest mouse-bile from Swirl-leaf, the ticks get off faster that way. And start from my tail up while I'm eating. And do it slowly so you don't miss any." she started. Not giving a chance for him to react she hissed "Well, what are you waiting for! Get to it!"

RAVENKIT

Ravenkit's eyes widened. "Wow!" she meowed jaw dropping at the thought of rouges that big. She was very curios now as to if he had gotten hurt "Did you get hurt? Did you?" she asked excitedly.</sup>

Old Talonstrike

Talonstrike nodded. "Oh aye. I lost the tip off my tail. One of the rogues bit down and took of the tip of my tail. However I wasn't hurt as badly as those rogues. They ran away all they way back to their mothers." He paused.

"Speaking of Rogues, have you ever head the tale of Bloodfang the Dark?"

Sevenkit shook her head. "No I haven't..." She said.

"Well long ago there was a cat born. He had fur black as night and eyes red as blood." He paused. "This cat was a warrior of the clans. No one remebers which clan. However one day he was out hunting when a strange creature bit him. He died and the medicine cat buried him. However that night he clawed his way out of his grave and ate up a whole litter of kittens. Other cats tried to attack him, but their claws did nothing. He left and wandered back into the woods. From then on form time to time cats would go missing. They would find them, their blood gone. In time the creature became known as Bloodfang. They say he's still out there and his favourite food is kits... he'll eat you right up if you don't listen to your mothers."

Saberpaw nodded and ran off to get the mouse bile. Carefully he rubbed it on any ticks he could find, at the same time he pulled off any fleas from the she-cat's coat. Looking at Old Talonstrike he remembered something the old tom had told him. Wild garlic... that got rid of fleas. He had seen a little big growing just outside the camp. Quickly he ran off to get it, then mashed it up in his mouth... it tasted awful... and began rubbing it on the flea infested areas.

Ravenkit shivered at the thought of Bloodfang. "D-does he really eat kits?"

RATKIT
I am no different.
The stories Old Talonstrike were telling were very curios indeed. Rouges big enough to eat Saberpaw and then the rest of the clan for lunch? Amazing! And Bloodfang, he certainly didn't want to meet him. "Has anyone seen Bloodfang and lived?" he asked.

SMALLWHISKER
Keep your stories to yourself
Smallwhisker grunted as she listened to Talonstrike. If it wasn't for the fact that she was eating two very plump and delicious mice, she would have been rambling off about what telling stories could result in. Saberpaw's a smart one. she mused as she felt him working around. The smell of mouse-bile was disgusting but the fact that the ticks were getting off was rewarding. And then she noticed that he was also removing fleas as the itchy spots slowly went away.
She felt the work stop for a few moments but then the smell of garlic and Saberpaw returned. Heh, he must've listened to Old Talonstrike.</sup>

KESTRELKIT
Let's Start A Riot!, A Riot!

Kestrelkit's ears perked as she heard Old Talonstrike began one of his very fascinating stories, whenever he told them she often found herself gaping in awe or wondering if these were really true. But she forced herself to stay in the prisoner's den and wait for Silentkit.

Suddenly Skunk-kit spoke, was that kit stupid? Wasn't it obvious her cough was fake? Snorting Kestrelkit rolled her eyes, she had decided to play nice and not rain on Skunk-kit's parade, but still? Seriously? Sighing she meowed,

"No, no I'm fine." pausing she quickly sent her mind to work, in search of a reason she coughed. "The dust just got in my throat while I was running--that's all." Blinking she added in quickly,

"Because it stopped raining so everything's getting dryer." Wow. That was completely mouse-brained. Working her gaze back over to Skunk-kit she pondered over what the two could discuss, they were both very different yet the same. Kestrelkit had barely any respect for anyone, besides her father and loved to get involved with other kits. While it seemed all Skunk-kit wanted to do was be alone, yet they both wanted to become the best warriors in the clan.

"So--how is it like having five other siblings?" she meowed at last, at least this would get him to talk.

OWLTALON
I fight for what I believe in.

Owltalon strode into camp, three mice hung from his jaws. It was the day after the battle and everything seemed back to normal. The kits were enchanted by Old Talonstrike's stories, and Smallwhisker was complaining. The apprentices were doing their chores while the warriors basked in the sunlight. Everything seemed perfect.

Padding towards the fresh-kill pile he padded over to Loudstorm, the tom seemed to have recovered from the battle. Grunting Owltalon did his best to catch Loudstorm's attention and meowed,
"Sunhigh hunting patrol, bring Gingerflight and Night-" he was about to say Nightflare but it seemed as if the tom wasn't in camp. That's odd I didn't send him out anywhere-- Owltalon shrugged, perhaps he went out hunting on his own.

"Bring Gingerflight and Saberpaw. Your in charge." Without waiting for any response he made his way over to the nursery, he was going to have a chat with his mate about Kestrelkit and Mystickit's naming ceremony.

Poking his tabby-colored head through the entrance he found his mate sleeping beside Mystickit--Kestrelkit was no where to be seen, That figures. Shaking his head in annoyance he prodded the black she-cat with a paw,

"Rainflight?"

Old Talonstrike

Talonstrike shook his head. "No cat has ever seen Bloodfang. If you see him, his eyes will hipnotize you and make you go mad. They say he stalks the night, waiting. His eyes glowing red in the dark." He laughed. "And when he gets close he'll gobble you up just like you gobble up a mouse."

Sevenkit pondered what he was saying. Then she remembered what her mother had said about about a black red eyed tom.
"I think mother's seen Bloodfang. Remember what she asked... that sounded just like the tom in Old Talonstrike's story."

Gingerflight
Victim of a Broken family

Gingerflight smiled as the kits tackled toadpaw then started listening to Talonstrike. She remembered listening to the tales of the elders, even as an apprentice. She sighed and slowly looked around. The clan seemed to be doing fine now. She looked back at the kits, and her tailed curled around her paws.
Maybe I'll get one of them as an apprentice. It could be a few moons but it's okay. she thought smiling slightly. she got up and stretched slightly before padding over to the sun, laying down, letting her fur soak up the new sun. Gingerflight laid her head back closing her eyes. She listened to the elders story and smiled slightly.
Talonstrike you old cat. You're going a little over board again. she though, purring in amusement.

RAVENKIT

Ravenkit shivered at the story. Seeing as it was seemingly over, she meowed "Can you tell us a...nicer story now?" she asked as she heard Smallwhisker grunt through a mouth of mouse "Stories are nothing but trouble if you ask me. Give the young'uns crazy ideas they will."


RATKIT
I am no different.

Ratkit listened to the story. I have red eyes! Will I be like Bloodfang? he thought I hope not! Then he heard his sister Sevenkit. "Yeah! Mother said something about a black cat with red eyes. Do you think it could've been Bloodfang, do ya Old Talonstrike?" he asked excitedly.


LOUDSTORM
A storm so loud.

Loudstorm nodded in reply to Owltalon. The black tom had come out of the warriors den from a nice long sleep, his shoulder a little stiff but nothing a little hunting wouldn't help. Seeing that both Gingerflight and Saberpaw were out and about, Loudstorm got up and walked over to Gingerflight first.

"Sun-high hunting patrol. I'll meet you at the entrance." he meowed before going over to Saberpaw and Smallwhisker. "Sorry, Smallwhisker, but I'll have to take Saberpaw for a little while. Owltalon says he has to come on sun-high hunting patrol."

SMALLWHISKER

Smallwhisker caught whiff of Loudstorm, so the elder wasn't surprised when she heard him. Sounding as cranky as possible after swallowing the last bit of mouse she meowed "Yes, yes. Whatever you say. You know back in my day elders were appreciated better than this. If an apprentice was willing checking for ticks no warrior would bother them." she paused to take a breath, a good time for Loudstorm and Saberpaw to make their escape, and escape Loudstorm did.

Old Talonstrike

"It could have been, but that's not likely. Since your mother has her sanity." Talonstrike said with a smile.
"A nicer story..." he furrowed his brow.

"Let me tell you the tale of Laughingheart, a cat of the days of old. Back before the warrior ansestors lived, in the time when gods walked among us. It was a time when only the moon lit the sky. Now this was all fine for cats, after all we can see in the dark. However all the other animals couldn't see that well in the dark and they were always bumping into things and asking cats... like Laughingheart... to help them find things. Needless to say Laughingheart got annoyed by this.
He was walking along one day, though no one could tell it was day because it was always dark and he looked up at the moon. He thought that he needed something brighter to light the sky. Then he saw something, it was bright and orange and glowed. He had never seen anything like it before.
He asked the creature beside it what it was, and the creature said it was fire. Laughingheart asked if he could have some of the fire. However the creature said no.

So Laughingheart waited until the creature fell asleep... then he stole some of the fire. However it made his pelt catch fire and he started to run. He ran so fast that he ran up into the sky. The moon saw him coming and was afraid. It ran away from him. And tried to hide. However there was no where to hide. Now the moon runs away from Laughingheart and Laughingheart runs because he is on fire... and that is why he have the sun and why the moon moves."

Saberpaw

Saberpaw nodded and finished off with the last tick.
"Try eating some of the garlic... maybe it will keep fleas away." he said and at some himself.
"I'm coming." He said and followed Loudstorm. He smiled as Old Talonstrike told his tale. "Hey Toadpaw, why don't you keep Smallwhisker quiet by taking care of her pelt. Maybe then she won't bug the kits while they're listening to stories. And then you would get to hear Talonstirke tell his tall tales." For once he was being nice to his foster brother.

Toadpaw
He who smiles during a crisis has found someone to blame

Toadpaw said farewell to his foster brother, for now. Now, he had to tend to Smallwhisker as Old Talonstrike went on with his grand tales of epic proportions. Toadpaw was curious, however, "Elder Talonstrike," he politely called, "You're, eh, sure you're not making these ruddy stories up?" He chuckled lightly, wondering if the old tom, in his rather advanced age, remembered anything of his past exploits at all.[/center]

Gingerflight

Gingerflight nodded at Loudstorm and got up stretching before padding that way. She knew good and well loudstorm needed to rest, but she wasn't going to argue with the deputy. She padded toward the entrance and quickly licked Down a few peices of fur that were sticking out.
"Finally a good day to be out hunting." she said, looking at the apprentice. "don't you think, Saberpaw?"

LOUDSTORM
A storm so loud.

Loustorm headed towards the entrance where Gingerflight and Saberpaw waited. "Okay then, let's go." He meowed before heading out of the campe. It was a nice day, the sun shining. And it felt good to have it shining overhead again after all of those rainning days.

Smallwhisker twitched her ears. "Of course they're made up!" she hissed in reply to Toadpaw. "And making up tales will do nothing but get him in trouble. If some cat came up and really believed the tales about his past who knew what would happen." she paused in eyed Toadpaw "If some cat takes one of those mouse-brained stories seriously there'll be trouble. If some cat took his tale of those rouges seriously and chanllenged Talonstrike to a fight. And they were large and stronger to him like those "rouges" he'd get in big trouble then."

Old Talonstrike

Old Talonstrike laughed and put a tail over Smallwhisker's mouth. "Don't listen to that whippersnapper Toadpaw. She's too young to remember. Now I, I was there. I remember. I was a warrior of many moons when she was a kit mewling in the nursery. Of course they're true. As true as the day is long." He grinned and looked at the kits.
"Does anyone want to hear the story of how Tigerclan got their stripes?" He asked. "Or the tale of why cats and foxes are enemies?" He asked them, his tail flicking back and forth.

Saberpaw

Saberpaw nodded. "Hunting would be quite good, now that we're not being rained on at all hours of the day." He paused and followed her. "I think my fur is finally dry." He laughed a little. "I bet I'll catch more prey than you."
