Gathering Under The Moon

<sup>Riverstar slipped out of her den with a yawn. Refreshed by the nap she recieved earlier, she looked up at the sky. Gathering... Nodding to herself as she recited the cats she wanted to bring in her head, she rushed up ontop of the High-ledge, raising her muzzle and yowling loudly over the commotion in the camp,

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the High-ledge for a Clan meeting!"

Her call echoed through the clearing as cats rose and followed her order. A few were already near the rock Riverstar was perched on, knewing what was coming. Satisfied when mostly all the cats were in order, she continued her announcement.

"As you all know, the gathering is tonight. And the ones who will be participating is Owltalon, Tigerpaw, Rainflight, Maplewing, Birdsong, Amberpaw, Nightflare and Hawkeyes." Riverstar announced, nodding to the cats named and leaping down from the High-ledge.</sup>

<sup>Owltalon padded out from beneath one of the sunning rocks, of course these areas were much cooler in the dark but he enjoyed the sensation of the cold air running up his spine. Yawning he stretched his limbs out one by one before continuing forward. Sitting down at the base of High-ledge where he belonged he gazed out at his clan, I still can't believe I'm deputy.

Blinking he wondered what tonight's gathering would be like? Shrugging he figured it'd be as normal as any other one, but then again it'd be the first Gathering since the floods and he had been wondering how the other clan's were doing.

Seabird exited the warrior's den with an excited hop, she had been looking forward to the gathering all day. The young she-cat really hoped she would be chosen to go but the way her face fell, it was obvious to tell she hadn't been chosen.

Sighing she sat down with a humph, she really wanted to show off her apprentice to the cats, but then again only his brother Tigerpaw had been selected to go anyways. Snorting, she shook her head, ah well, I guess there's always next time.</sup>

<sup>Hawkeyes sighed with relief as his name was called on Riverstar’s list of the cats that would participate at the gathering. He quickly shook his coat as it started getting heavy with the cold rain pounding down on him.


Nightflare raced into camp just in time to hear his name being called for the gathering. He nodded and turned to,
“Looks like we’re both going tonight.” His meowed silently, catching his breath.</sup>

Joy and excitement rushed through Tigerpaw as he heard his name be called to go to the gathering. This was his first one and he really wanted to meet other apprentices from the other clans. He sat there impatiently neading the ground with his paws. Oh how he wanted to go, and run with his clan to this meeting. Of course he was nervouse and scared at the same time, for he was born of a loner. What will people think of him?

Gypsypaw listened intently, waiting for her name to be called. As Riverstar leapt down from the High-ledge, Gypsypaw felt her eyes fill with disappointment. Lowering her tail she stalked off, only to think better of it. "Hey Tigerpaw!" She mewed loudly enough for him to hear, "You're so lucky you get to go. Tell me what is was like when you get back!" Twitching her ears nervously she asked, "Do you want to go hunting with me?" She shuffled her paws, waiting for an answer from the excited tom.

Tigerpaw's eyes met the gaze of the young apprentice Gypsepaw. He could tell she was trying to hold in the dissapointment, for he could see it deep within her amber eyes. Heat ran through him like a wildfire, he didn't like talking to she-cats, they made him nervouse.
"A-hh sure! Oh Kay... When will we go hunting though?"
How stupid he felt. Twiching his tail in anger at himself, he lifted his eyes to greet hers once more waiting anxiously for her to answer...

"Is now ok?" Gypsypaw watched her paws shyly, shrugging.
