In the Eye of the Storm [ ShadowClan Meeting ]

<sup>With a trembling wail Mothpaw awoke from her slumber, the rain pounded against the apprentice's den shelter. Wh-What did that dream mean? With shaking paws she slowly brought herself to her paws, gazing around she wondered where everyone was. There was no other cat within the den, Thievingstreak's voice brought her attenion out beyond the confines of her den.

"A--clan meeting?" she meowed quietly, her paws still trembled, and she could still scent the blood that had once clung to her pelt. With a shaky sigh she slowly exited the den. The rain didn't bother her anymore, she wasn't sure if rain will ever bother her again.

After such a horrifying experience she truly believed nothing could ever be as horrid as the secrets that her dream withheld. Padding silently towards the cluster of cats she settled besides Crystalmoon, perhaps the Medicine Cat could tell what troubled the she-cat. But she doubted it, it seemed as if this dream was only for her. With tired eyes she brought her gaze to Thievingstreak, sighing she had no idea what was going on.</sup>

OOC: Since Mothpaw is late and I have three kits to take care of (versus two apprentices), I'll be tackling Skykit, Nightkit, and Duskkit first.

As solemn murmurs gathered like fog at the base of the pine, Thievingstreak moved quickly to turn the tide, meowing in a more hopeful tone, "I have great faith in Nightsky. His service to the Clan thus far has proven him to be a worthy deputy." Her expectant gaze fell upon the tom, and the deputy blinked slowly as she bowed her head in gratitude.

With her main announcement finished, Thievingstreak carefully leapt down from the branch, landing a bit roughly on the slick earth. Wincing a bit – her hind leg had never fully healed – the she-cat padded a few short steps to rest on her haunches before her warriors.

“We have suffered a great blow in losing Shortstar,” she continued quietly, scanning the many damp faces and dripping whiskers that comprised her Clan.”Alas, life must continue. And there are three lives, I believe, who wish to someday join the ranks of our fearless warriors. But let us not be too hasty – one must learn to walk before he must learn to run. Nightkit, Skykit, Duskkit – please step forward.

"From this day, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Nightpaw, Skypaw, and Duskpaw. I ask StarClan to watch over you and guide you until you find in your paws the strength and courage of a warrior. Adderfang, you will be mentor to Nightpaw. Mossfrost, you will be mentor to Skypaw. And Hawkstreak, you will be mentor to Duskpaw. You are all true and trusted warriors, and I hope you will pass this knowledge to your new apprentices."

She nodded to each new apprentice and mentor in turn, unable to suppress a smile even as the rain continued relentlessly. For these young cats to stand steadfast in such a torrential downpour proved their allegiance to their Clan -- the strongest of the four, Thievingstreak was sure. Pride swelled in her chest and throbbed in her heart and, having shaken off the rain that was gathering on her fur, the she-cat began the celebratory call, encouraging her Clanmates to do the same -- "Nightpaw! Skypaw! Duskpaw!"

<sup>Hawkstreak lifted his head as his name was called, confusion glaced his eyes. "Duskpaw...? Hawkstreak...?" he mumbled, in a daze. Was he assigned an apprentice? He never had an apprentice before, so it was a big step for him

But where was Duskpaw? Stumbling on his feet, he walked unsteadily toward the front where all the apprentices were meeting their mentors. "D...Duskpaw...?"

Nightpaw steadily and calmly walked up ahead, in hope to meet his mentor somewhere beyond the point where he stood. His expressionless face and cold eyes searched his new mentor, wanting to get it over with. Though his heart raced, showing a hint of his real self.

Following the black apprentice, Skypaw was full of energy, fully ready to meet her new mentor. Racing past the wondering tom she stopped in her tracks at the front of the crowd, immedietly waiting for her mentor to appear and greet her.</sup>

( We need someone to be the role-player of Duskpaw >_< )

ooc:I could always take Duskpaw again..but then I'd feel as if I'll have too many characters >.< I already have 3 deaths planned but -sigh- I'm not sure. I have Owltalon, Kestrelkit, Silverwing, Blazingpaw, Fawnstep, Crimsonclaw, Wavekit, Tanglepaw, and Eclipseclaw living for sure and I'm not sure if I want anymore. But I'll go make ANOTHER board for her xD

OOC: Sorreh about that -- s'fixed. =P Not as bad as Thievingstrike vs Thievingstreak though. I can't remember how many times you guys have messed that one up. xD Now we're all even. Hrr.

<sup>Mothpaw soon caught on, apparently something happened occurred to Shortstar. Which would explain his absence, Thievingstreak must have called a new deputy. But who is it? She let her green gaze scan the surroundings, aw, Nightsky. He looked proud, and the way his eyes shown she could tell he was for once contempt.

Turning her attention towards Thievingstreak she smiled slightly, new apprentices?! Just what Shadowclan needed. She was sure all of these kits will eventually prove themselves worthy, the mentors were also expertly chosen.

"Nightpaw, Duskpaw, Skypaw..." she whispered, her eyes still shown with the dull pain of death.Her dreams still frightened her and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to do anything else tonight, let alone sleep. Everything of her dream was so memorable against the pale outlines of her previous memories. She wasn't sure if she'd be even able to think normally, closing her eyes she sighed. Why me?</sup>

Adderfang felt his gentle face burst into a genuine grin, although his features were odd and he was supposedly the ugliest cat in the forest, he felt as if nothing better could happen. Approaching his apprentice he dipped his head,
"I'm happy to accept such a yearning tom to be my apprentice, and I promise you that I shall train you to the best of my abilities." he meowed seriously.

Gently he touched his nose to Nightpaw's and sat down, his ruffled gray fur nearly touching his. He wondered what the tom had thought of him, was he impressed? Or the exact opposite, he was going to guess the second one. Most apprentices would probably place him at the bottom of their list for their number one choice in mentor, but he dearly hoped not.

For he wanted to prove himself, even if it wasn't nessicary. But he wanted to prove himself and if he had to prove it to anyone, it'd be his new apprentice.
