Under The Full Moon [Gathering]

All this had happened so quickly from what had been so peaceful of a meeting only a short time ago. It felt so strange almost as if it was just a some bad dream but he know it was far from a dream. When Mousepelt was finally able to get his barring's again he could see the medicine cats speaking but as soon as he focused on them they seemed to finish. In the few moments after they finished Mousepelt's mind was a storm of questions about what was happing, why, and what it could mean. But his train of thought was broken when he heard Owlstar speak again calling on Frostbite. Mousepelt stayed were he was waiting for the cats response hoping there could be at lest some answers to what was happening. He also heard Owlstar mention patrols and he thought about volunteering to help but he couldn't seem to work up the nerve after every thing that had happened so he didn't say anything. As he sat there his tail curled tightly around his front paws finding a small amount of comfort in this. [/style]

Everything was happening way to fast! Frostbite almost wished everything was just a dream up to this point.. what cat has ever died at a gathering? Starclan what are you doing up there?1 she hissed in her head as voices came from everywhere, leaders were asking questions, medicine cats were telling their dreams. Frostbite being the Thunderclan medicine cat was still shaken up by her dream honestly.
Eyes went right to her leader owlstar who spoke her name and asked what she had seen. Now frozen this was a huge decision.. share in front of everyone..or just in front of her leader. One already seemed like the most logical choice really. Green eyes looked right into her leaders and even though she might get hell about this she stood up and mewed, ''What message I have had come before me is not to share with the other clans. Only with you Owlstar.'' Letting her gaze soften she wanted to let him know she was serious. She was scared. In all her life.. she was scared. Frostbite was not allowed to show it though. Let the other medicine cats tell their dreams to the other clans.. but this one.. seemed to deep to share with everyone right now. So much has went on already why make it worse?

Sunstar had been frozen. everything had become a buzzing sound, muffled as if she was under water. She felt icy all over, and when the crows appeared in the heaping black mass, she didn't even notice. Her gaze was focused on the bloody form of Morningstreak's body. It wasn't until Swiftpaw pushed his way through that Sunstar started to react again. Her senses were going back to their usual state, and she became aware of the flow of the conversation around her. Leaders were questioning medicine cats, medicine cats were giving vague answers. Sunstar's eyes flashed in anger at Frostbite, the ThunderClan medicine cat. A message for only Owlstar's ears? Her eyes burned a fiery pit of anger. Was it Owlstar's deputy who had just bleed to death in front of all four Clans? No! It was WindClan's deputy whose body laid dead and cold. She could strangle Frostbite if she had the mind to, but it wasn't worth the effort. The queen turned to the mourning apprentice. She gave him a gentle nuzzle on his shoulder for comfort. It wasn't fair for any apprentice to loose their mentor, and to loose them in a way such as this. It was nightmarish, horrible dream, unimaginable. But now Sunstar felt wariness coming over her. And Owlstar's mention of patrols made Sunstar worry about her home. And the rest of her clan. What was she going to tell them? How was she going to tell them? They had left excited for another gathering, and they would return mourning and baring the body of their dead deputy. She looked once more at the departed Morningstreak, and knew what course of action she needed to take. "Ladybird, Flamestrike, Honeystep, will you bear Morningstep's body back to camp." she turned to the leaders and spoke loud enough for all to hear "I believe enough has happened at this gathering. I hope you will permit me the audacity to end this gathering. WindClan has a burial to attend to. I know this does not solve the mystery of what has happened here tonight-" Sunstar had to pause and clear her throat of the emotional tightness that was overcoming it, and continued "But it appears we all need to consult individually with our medicine cats. I hope you will permit me to to arrange a meeting with you three at moonstone?" She ended with the question to allow the other leaders a chance to reply as her warriors prepared to take Morningstep back to camp. [bg=ffe69c][atrb=border,0,true]

[atrb=background,http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7560/u0h8.jpg] Flamestrike still couldn’t believe his eyes, for a second he was in bliss enjoying Moonshine’s comfortable presence and about to smile and arrange a meeting time when quite suddenly and literally all hell broke loose. First the loyal deputy of his clan bled to death in front of everyone meowing cryptic messages that the young tom didn’t want to hear. Then the crows, hundreds and hundreds of black birds swarming atop their heads. For the whole time he stood in front of the RiverClan she-cat trying his best to protect her from whatever was going on. He felt the light scratch of a bird’s claws puncturing his back but he stood his ground ready to defend the object of his newfound affection. He hissed and scratched until the voice of Finchstar made everything stop. The birds were gone, vanished like thin air. His eyes immediately shot to the medicine cats, more specifically his friend Cloudstep. Did he know what was going on? But when he noticed how lost and confused he seemed he knew the young medicine cat didn’t have the answers everyone was looking for. Instead he turned to the ShadowClan medicine cat, who was trying to comfort the four clans but something seemed obvious, their answers were cryptic and all of their indicated a big cover-up, as if there was a secret none of them wanted to share. Frostbite openly admitted there was something going on with her statement, she wanted only to share whatever secret she was keeping with her leader. Sunstar then gave and order, and order he knew he had to follow. Flamestrike’s eyes hardened when he noticed he’d been avoiding Morningstreake’s bloodied body. He took a deep breath and walked away from Moonshine, he gave her a saddened and apologetic look. The young tom closed his eyes and murmured a hollow apology to the deputy before carrying half of her body, he waited patiently for either Ladybird or Honeystep to help him with the task at hand. When everything was settled he slowly made his way back to camp, his tail dropping and his eyes mournful. word count: tags: notes:

In the same instant that Ladybird's paws lifted from the still body of the stricken crow, the black mass began to dissolve into nothingness -- feathers, flesh, bones, and all. In a few startled blinks, it had completely disappeared, as if it had never existed at all. Ladybird twisted her head to inspect her wounds and was equally shocked to see not a scratch upon her pelt. The injury that the supposed bird had inflicted upon her neck was not there. In fact, her fur was not even ruffled, and not a hair was out of place, though the pain was still there, sharp and burning. Did she imagine the whole horrific thing?

Had it not been for the huddled bodies around her, Ladybird would have thought herself on the verge of insanity. Without a doubt, these cats had seen what she had seen. The Somali fought hard against the thought that she was losing her mind or her grip on reality. But even if she was, she was not alone -- they all were questioning their plight.

There was no denying the bloodied corpse of her clan's deputy, however. It was very real indeed. Too concerned at the time for the safety of the many cats around her than one in particular, she had forced the image of the dying Morningstreak to the back of her mind to focus on saving the others. Ladybird was no medicine cat, and there was no use attempting to come to her aid when her skills were best suited elsewhere. Despite her efforts in bringing down one of the birds, though, with the mysterious illusions gone, her fighting prowess had been of little help here.

Her leader's orders brought the buried images of the contorting ginger she-cat to the forefront of her thoughts. The adrenaline of her struggle with the imaginary bird was fading, and her limbs trembled as her strength waned with it. "Yes, Sunstar," she answered numbly, joining Flamestrike and Honeystep, her heart pained with sorrow. WindClan would now need to face the truth of this awful tragedy. Their deputy had joined StarClan, and there was nothing that any cat -- medicine cat, warrior, or otherwise -- could have done to stop it.

''What message I have had come before me is not to share with the other clans. Only with you Owlstar.'' The tom narrowed his eyes - his mind caught in deep thought. With a slight nod of his head he permitted the she-cat's decision. Owlstar was more than comfortable sharing with his fellow warriors but if Frostbite was unable to give him the information he needed - then so be it. He could feel the tension thicken, clans were becoming wary with one another, terrified from the night's events. His suggestion of ordering patrols hung heavy in the air - nobody was acting. The massive tabby tom shifted his gaze to the frigid, frozen silhouette of windclan's stricken leader. She seemed caught between two conflicting emotions - angry with the cruelty of the night and frightened for her clan's survival. With a swift flick of her tail Sunstar gathered her clan and ordered them from the clearing. Her eyes quickly found his his and slowly swept across the remaining leaders, "-I hope you will permit me to to arrange a meeting with you three at moonstone?" Before anyone else could speak, Owlstar found himself addressing the she-cat, "We will meet within a week's time." With a quick dip of his head he spun on his heel and broke through the crowd. The tom beckoned his deputy and medicine cat to him - he would need their company - it was going to be a long night. "Thunderclan, we will be returning to camp now." His voice boomed through the hollow and into the trees. But before he left the sacred grounds entirely he stopped and passed Sunstar a sad, woeful glance, "My condolences. Morningstreak was a magnificent warrior." His words were soft, only quiet enough for the she-cat to hear. The tom dipped his head and continued back into the undergrowth. It was when they finally reached Thunderclan territory did he turn to his companions. "Frostbite, when we return to camp you're going to tell me everything you know." Owlstar fixed his medicine cat a cold stare; she should have shared this with me sooner Perhaps he could have done something to prevent this. The tom led his clan back to camp - the trek was mostly filled with silence and the occasional frightened murmur. Their arrival quickly quieted the guards; they far too stunned to question the mourning warriors. As Owlstar led his deputy and medicine cat back to his den he was sure of one thing; this gathering was burned in his mind and sleep wasn't going to get rid of it. [bg=816961]
