A black, shadowy form lay prostrate on the warm red stone of the coveted Sunningrocks. The shape was breathing even and slow, and closer observation revealed paws and whiskers twitching as the form slept. In some innocent dream, the young Ravenstreak was racing across the brambles of ThunderClan forest. Prey fell right into her paws, and their tantalizing scent and juices caused her stomach to rumble loudly. Maybe too loudly.
With a jerk, the she-cat warrior was awake from her peaceful slumber. Her pelt was warm from the sun, but a chill autumn wind was blowing in from the forest. Drowsily flipping onto her other side, Ravenstreak came face to face with the river. Literally.
Spluttering the she-cat scrambled backwards in surprise, her maw wet with the chilly water. Clear from the water, Ravenstreak swiped at her face and shook the droplets from her whiskers. I guess Loudstorm was right, I do toss and turn a lot in my sleep Being fairly new to the warriors den, Ravenstreak learned quickly that there isn't much room to stretch in it. No wonder her clan mates were annoyed at her in the morning. She would be annoyed at herself too.
But that only means they notice me, and that's better than being invisible. Her brother would have snorted at that. She was sure Silentpaw would have said something like Being invisible is better than having fifty warriors sleep-deprived because of you. Ravenstreak chuckled. Her brother had always been more of a realist and pessimist. Ravenstreak looked up at the blue sky. It had only been a few moons since the badger had torn through the territories, killing many brave cats, including her mother Iceblink, her brother Silentpaw, and her best friend Jaypaw. All that was left of her family was her father Loudstorm, and her siblings from her parents second litter. They were apprentices now.
Ravenstreak noted the position of the sun. It was half past sun-high. She needed to return to camp soon to prepare for the afternoon patrol she would be on. She glanced around at her surroundings. In fact, she was probably late. She had a habit of being late. She wouldn't be surprised if they had already left. And she knew that if they had, the first place they would come was Sunningrocks, because that is where she said she would be.
"Just another reason for them to notice me." she chuckled as she stood to stretch before leaving to join up with her patrol.
